No one from Harts will vote yes for the levy. Sorry, no football stadium for a losing football team. The Lincoln BOE. Members seem to have forgot about the fact that the Harts Creek students were left out when the new school was built in the middle of Hamlin. Let taxes go up if they have to. Harts Creek students are apparently second class people in the eyes of the BOE.

This is the continuation of what has been in effect for over 60 years, not the bond which has already failed. Get your facts before giving false information

Students from Alum Creek/Coal River/Alkol travel as far as any student from Harts Creek. Those students are in the same situation. Don't continue living in the past and move on and focus on education. No one cares if you won a single A basketball championship forever ago.Edu cation is the key to success for the future of our children.

Everyone knows that two schools was the best answer but the dear people of Lincoln County voted it down. The STATE then forced the one school, not the Lincoln County Board of Education. The State Board of Education wants us to take care of our own kids and make good decisions. The families will be hurting if they have to pay for books which will $350.00 per child in elementary,$450.00 for middle school, and $550.00 per for high school, even if you go to Logan schools. Harts students are welcome at LCHS. It is a longer bus ride for Harts kids to go to Chapmanville than it is to go to LCHS. The bus to LCHS leaves Harts Pre-K8 around 7:10 and gets to Hamlin by 8:00. Harts kids going to Chapmanville have to catch the bus around 6:00 to get there by 7:30. LCHS has an activity bus that runs all the way to Midway and to Harts each day for those participating in afterschool activities. It is not perfect but it is a big help. If the Levy fails that will be gone also, as well as ROTC, band, coaches salaries, and many more needed items like school supplies and janitor supplies. I have already voted yes for the kids of Lincoln County and I don`t don`t have any students attending. The rest of you should join suit and take responsibility for OUR children.

The Board members get a set salary of $100.00 per meeting. People do not want to support their own kids but if this fails you will be buying all their books for $250-550 per child depending on what grade they are in. If I had three children in school I could not afford that. Wake up and support you child and the others of Lincoln County.

Really think that you need to go back to school and learn proper grammar. You can't even spell our ( are ) <that is how you spelled it. smh so sad. But any who. Who cares about the stupid levy. It hasn't passed for a while now so what makes them think that it's going to pass now. They do NOT need no stadium for football heck they can't even play football. I be ashamed to let any of my kids play for them. Heck I be ashamed to go and watch them so call play cause they don't know how. Yes 2 schools would of been better but there is only one cause Lincoln county isn't big enough for 2. So just get over it already

The state needs to just take back over. Don't see why text books should be taken out of classroom. School is for school not home! Keep the work in school you would see a much difference instead of them bringing it home and not knowing how to do it and get a big zero for it. Just keep all work at school.

I see that people are out swinging the ignorant stick again on topix. You people really need to get your head out of your a$$. First of all, Harts actually won two state championships, idiot. We also spent decades developing one of the best programs in Class A...and we were very proud of that. We did not win a state championship every year, but we were often in the hunt. We would like to think that Lincoln Countians were proud of our accomplishments (as they should have been) but apparently some people like yourself dismiss years of dedication and hard work. We are also proud of the other things about our school, like our softball program. And academics? Yes, we accomplished things there as well. We were one of the few county schools who had an Academic Hall of Fame for our former educators. We also hosted an Academic Banquet every year. We are proud of much about our school. Your off-the-cuff remarks show your ignorance. Here is my advice: stop whining in Alum Creek. Alum Creek is not Harts Creek. Alum Creek never had a high school. We did. It is not the same situation AT ALL. Under the current set-up, our kids are not traveling a great distance to secondary school -- they ride ten minutes across a county line to CRHS. None of our kids are at the county high school. So you see, your comparison is just off-target. If you have a brain, you are already sending your kids to GW. That's one of WV's best schools. Go there and get that good education.

Surely you are not blaming the good people of Lincoln County for the one stupid school that exists in Hamlin! NO NO NO. It was the politicians who made this mess at the expense of our communities and our children! No one cares about the children! It amazes me that the state did not, when it took over our county school system, simply build two schools. It could have! You can thank Lloyd Jackson and also Earl Ray Tomblin for that new school in Hamlin. It destroyed the rest of the county and represents another feeble attempt by politicians from Hamlin to keep that dead town on life support. What a shame! I don't know what planet you are on, but Harts students make it to school at Chapmanville in 45 minutes or less. I can drive there in ten minutes. Unless you live on Kiah's Creek or Francis Creek or Big Ugly, you can access Chapmanville from Harts in twenty minutes or less! You are clueless!
