Mayor race heats up; 8 months to election day

Oct 3, 2013 Full story: Lincoln Journal 19

With eight months left until municipal elections in Hamlin, the contest for mayor looks set to have at least two candidates, with the incumbent and a challenger both confirming their interest in recent days.

From the article:

"He (David Flimsey Adkins) said people should want to come to Hamlin, enjoy it, and not be afraid of driving through it. "As for the rest of the people, I too continuously have to check my speed so I do not exceed the speed limit. Yes, I see a small amount of speeders that run over 50 mile per hour. That needs to be addressed,” said Adkins. "As mayor, I will work for the people, listen to your concerns, and make it the nice little town like it once was, when everyone wanted to come to Hamlin."

Looks like he hits the major issues in his announcement. He will return dignity to the conduct by the town leadership that has been lost under the thug in a police uniform during the last three years.

The mayor will win re-election...in a landslide! I love coming to Hamlin as it is. And I don't live in Texas. Why all the negative posts from someone in Texas? Who cares what you think!?
You sure do get wound up defending "your man". It appears that anyone that doesn't agree with his view or approach is "crazy". It has the taint of being a bit desperate.

If you can predict a "landslide" this far in advance you are a light worker. My guess is that by the time the elections comes around he will need to spend more time with his family and not run.

In this week's paper there was a story of another high speed chase that started in Hamlin. This must end because that jeopardizes the welfare of many "non" Hamlinites. This man is a thug and needs to be removed from office.

Why do you think Chris is soft on Pot? Former (being generous) users almost always are. He will get the pot vote, that is if they get to the polling place.

Disagreeing with me does not make you crazy. However, the way you obsessively keep getting on here ANONYMOUSLY while hiding your location to trash a public official with baseless accusations and ridiculous comments is cowardly and demeaning to your humanity. Why don't you move back to Hamlin and run against the mayor? You seem to really have a problem with this guy.(P.S.: the crazy part comes in with all of your "out there" comments and also your obsession with this person.)
In the last election, there were approximately 200 votes cast. I predict the mayor will win re-election by at least 30 votes this time. I will help him get them, although I do not think he will really need any extra help. He has done a great job fighting drugs.

lol, i love that i've pointed out to you at least twice that i (the person that exclusively posts as anonymous) is neither from tx nor the poster who's location shows up as tx.

i've also pointed out to you, on numerous occasions, that the location information on somebody's post is entirely unreliable. when you send a request for data you're.... yanno what, fuck this, i'm not wasting my time educating you on how this shit works.

you're wrong, entirely, in your assumptions on how the magic interwebs box gives you interwebs and you lack BASIC, ELEMENTARY communication skills that have enabled the human animal to rise to evolutionary dominance and have thus confused at least three separate posters as one.

how is it that you can work out how the voting process works, but can't even grasp or keep up with a conversation that a 6 year old would have no trouble handling.

not only do my accusations have plenty of merit (and i've explained them ad nauseam) which you've yet to dispute (choosing simply to stick your fingers in your ears and scream NUH UH!!) but then you accuse other posters of hiding by not publishing their legal name and address, which is something that you've failed to do as well.

It can't answer the question or provide logical ideas so the process becomes. The principles are covered in Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky. It is the Bible of the leftist radicals.

Another high speed chase. About thirty or so miles. The crime was 48 mph in town, all two thousand feet of it. The penalty was exposure of thirty miles of oncoming traffic with a herd of wanna be cops chasing a fool. It is interesting that one of the charges was "fleeing with reckless indifference". You can equally say the pursuit was "pursuit with reckless indifference". No doubt "hot to trot for Chris in Logan" will defend the Mayor's leadership. That fudged insurance form is lurking in the background. This town is a disaster waiting to happen.

lol, i was listening to the chase on the scanner, it was quite lulzy. the police where going on as though they where chasing some high profile criminal. the lulziest part was chris bitching about his jeep not being able to keep up.

it's all moot anyway, qualifications for a position rarely if ever weigh on the minds of the voting public of lincoln co, they're more likely to be swayed by peer pressure and religious beliefs (or whoever gives them the best return for their vote if you catch my drift).

Was that before or after he got off? Man, this guy is a throw back to vaudeville. Like an episode of the Dukes of Hazard, except they weren't on a curvy mountain highway with oncoming (read expendable) traffic.

This is high speed chase four or five? Amazing that the State Board of Risk has not cancelled the town's insurance. They need to pull the assessment that Ms. Rexroad factually completed and compare it to the one Chrissy fudged and compare them. This event shows the mental incompetence that allows huge liability risks to happen. It is all about Chrissy, there is zero concern for the local citizens in the path of this clownish behavior.

You're an idiot! lol. In your own posts, you admit (as I knew) that it's easy to post on topix while hiding your identity and your location! I knew this, but wanted you to admit that you are either: 1) not a local person and therefore irrelevant to local politics; or 2) a local coward who is hiding behind a fake name and location. Clearly, you are posting as various people and at various locations! It is ALL YOU! YOU -- and not three separate posters -- are the person who has a grievance against the mayor. YOU are using topix to post horrible lies about him every day. I don't need your education -- keep it. You are the reject who keeps defining words, citing legal statutes, etc. and apparently forgetting to read your own material because you constantly contradict yourself. My suggestion: step out of your ivory tower, remove the big stick from your "ad nauseam," erase your smug demeanor because you don't know as much as you think you do, and realize what a loser you are for getting on topix every day to attack someone unfairly while hiding your identity. Your accusations have no merit! You are a coward hiding behind your computer! I do not need to post my name or location here because I am not attacking people or making unfair accusations against someone's character -- like you. Every man does not need to know his supporters, but every man deserves to know the identity of his accusers.

gee bob, idk but all of your posts have sounded pretty inflammatory to me.

eh, i'm not bored yet so i guess i'll continue beating the dead horse.

you do realize that i've said this about topix a bazillion and one times yea?

look, obviously the dood "from tx" is either a current resident, or a prior resident that still cares about his hometown. according to topix (which as i said, very unreliable) you're from logan, so why would somebody from logan give a shit about what happens in hamlin or what hamlin's mayor does or does not do? you must be a friend of chris'!!

see, i can be just as delusional as yourself and jump to wild conclusions as well. i just choose not to be, because it makes you look uneducated and mentally deficient. the reason that some of the statements made between i and the "crazy person from tx" (somebody who i don't entirely agree with mind you) are contradictory (i've yet to see this btw) is because they're posts from different people. you're not worth the required resources to troll in that manor, and the only reasons i even take the time to reply to you, directly, is because your particular brand of uneducated, dedicated yesman-ship is reflected in the community and quite frankly i'm tired of being surrounded by idiots who are totally devoid of the ability to add 2 and 2 and get 4. oh, your insanity helps as well, it's quite lulzy.

on a more serious note, i'm not attacking chris from a personal standpoint. i know chris personally, and though i wouldn't call him a friend, he is at the very least an acquaintance. i simply do not agree with neither his politics nor the way he goes about things. he has good intentions and is an overall good person, but sometimes good people with good intentions do more harm than good.

k, i gotta go figure out how to remove said stick from "my ad nauseam", this is quite an abstract concept and i'm not entirely sure how one removes a stick from a latin turn of phrase (or owns one for that matter), but i shall try.

It is possible that at a point Chris had good intentions. There is clear evidence he craves control over people. First as a Preacher and then as the "big cheese" of Hamlin as not only the Mayor but also the Chief of Police.

There is likely to be an interesting exchange when Danny Jones returns from New Orleans and finds a high speed chase has jeopardized citizens of him Charleston Domain. You just don't permit high speed chases to happen for inconsequential reasons. There will be blowback.

I don't worry about Harts Creek or Logan because she is just trying to control the narrative for a sinking ship. If the election were held today with Chris against the Village Idiot (Hamlin has several), the Village Idiot would win. It doesn't matter if I am in Travis County or Lincoln County, I have an interest in events in Lincoln County.

There has been no significant effort to control drugs in Hamlin beyond a massive stop and frisk program with traffic through the town. Most of these stops are constitutionally flawed and eventually that will bite him in the ass. I doubt that he has the intellect to understand his constitutional obligations. But, that aside JJ must be a little pissed that his "brilliant" and successful scheme to take down a lab caused Chris to get all the attention and credit. Chris had no impact other than stealing the church bus. The headline was supposed to read "LINCOLN COUNTY CHIEF DEPUTY DEVISES MASTER PLAN TO TAKE DOWN METH LAB" but instead it focused attention on Chris both in terms of the plan and in the nuance that he took the bus without permission. After all, JJ has plans to become High Sheriff. Chris did too, but he knew that long smoldering record would be come public.

I believe Chris's good intentions evaporated with his access to power. First as a Preacher and then as a "politician".

Danny Jones will be livid. Charleston does have a policy on high speed chases. They learned the hard way.

Chris Wilkinson IS the village idiot.

Hamlin needs a leader that cares about its people and is willing to fight for improvement, something that flimsy will work hard to do. A bigger, bladder, beefed up police force is not the answer, obviously. And that seems to be the only thing on our current mayor`s agenda. Everyone should embrace change, who knows something positive just might happen. Vote for flimsy!
