I am not Mr. Gregory. My statement was based on the simple principle that if you are a director of a company or operation the most (I do mean most) toxic thing you can do is lobby against a board candidate or continuing or reappointment of a board member. I'll say it again, you don't get to pick your board. Or, at least, you better not be caught trying to and he was.
Mosteller called for an investigation that he assumed he could in some way control as the continuing Director. That has changed because he is on the outside looking in now. I don't have any reason or information to believe the Director was guilty of massive fraud or personal theft of any kind. Perhaps those kinds of allegations will be made but I am not in possession of anything to suggest that. However, he clearly was a political payback kind of person and likely will be tainted in an investigation that thoroughly looks at the operation of the PSD and when and how decisions were made to extend facilities. The only citizen Mosteller was trying to protect was Mosteller.
BTW it is ethically correct for a board member to hold a director accountable for lobbying against him/her. Were I the Board Member I would first try a "come to Jesus conference" with the Director to sort out the concern. If that didn't work then other measures could and would apply. The Board Member is the employer and the director is the employee.
All due respect, I honestly don't think God is on the organization chart here. That is not anti Christian it just isn't a part of the mix.
It is also "ethically correct" for a Director to hold a Board Member accountable. That is what the Whistleblower law was made for, as Mosteller clearly describes himself as in this article.

Perhaps "the Chicago way", aka, Ron Gregory is done. I think you guys have clearly pointed out what is really going on here. Kudos to you all for seeing the facts and calling this trouble making instigator out. I believe in Karma, but mostly I believe in our God. Everything happens for a reason, I'm confident that the truth will come out. Thank u all for supporting my dad, it means a lot.

It would only be fair to all involved if the responses to the above article should stick to what was written in the article or expressed in a comment, so let's not lower ourselves to the standards of the person going by the name Chicago Way by smearing anyone else or even repeating rumors - because rumors are just what they are - rumors/hearsay - and they hold no more truth than the accusations being hurled around about Mr. Mosteller, especially since there have been no reports, as yet, about the validity of the "UNKNOWN" claims against him. Let sick dogs lie. Let this forum topic lay dormant. Looks like Chicago Way may have learned his lesson about 5 hours ago.

The fact that Ron Gregory is on any Board is a joke. What has this guy ever done for this County except bring it down?

Apparently your father agreed with you and publically blabbed that viewpoint. It is stunning that he and you don't see that as improper and counter productive to your cause.

When your father sues for wrongful termination of employment you have made it much easier to reject that claim.

Mike hawks that he is a whistleblower. Wrong! The correct term is co-conspirator.

With your internet blabbing you are making it easy for the problems in this job to migrate to his next job. You are dumb, really dumb!

I think you left out God.

Free speech is a very important. Did you actually go to school?

When this is all said and done Mike will move from suspension to firing. He will sue for wrongful termination and lose. Mike has a long history of manipulating the political process for his purpose and survival. This time he flew too close to the flame. Maybe, just maybe you could benefit by applying that rumor analogy to the crap you are spreading about Gregory.

During Mike's tenure the extension of water lines has been an element of the political process. We may now learn all the participants. All of this drama is just a Democrat Party faction fight.

ruˇmor - noun \ˈrü-mər\: information or a story that is passed from person to person but has not been proven to be true.

When googling Mike Mosteller, the only thing that I found was: Former Volunteer Fire Fighter; Former PTO President at Garretts Bend Community Center, raised funds for window units through carnival; Local Business Owner; Serves on Board of Local Fire Department. No scandals, no arrests, no warrants, no tax fraud. Nothing but Good. Here is PROOF on the above mentioned issues with Gregory. Easily found when Googling "Ron Gregory". Now you kind of have to feel sorry for Ron Gregory. NO ONE WANTS RON GREGORY. He's like a sad, little puppy that different people try to bring in from cold, but he ends up pooping on their carpet every time and gets tossed back out onto the cold streets. If things don't work out in Lincoln County, maybe you could try your luck in Mingo County? Enjoy the read....

If the Guinness Book of World Records has a category for local government headaches, Ron Gregory should be the hands-down winner. During his quarter-century career, he has been embroiled in ceaseless turmoil.

When he was Kanawha County's manager, former County Clerk Alma King called him "a loose cannon floundering around in the courthouse" and worse epithets. During a stormy county commission meeting, former Marmet Mayor Bill Pauley called him a "skunk." Gregory was fired in 1990 after failing to detect a $1 million budget shortage.

Gregory became manager of a St. Albans sewer district, where he was accused of improper borrowing and defaulting on bond payments.

He helped run a St. Albans publication that wasn't on county tax books -- and which defended the slavery side of the Civil War.

He became Charleston's assistant mayor, but usurped a handicapped parking space and was demoted to parks director -- a job in which he was accused of splitting purchase orders to avoid bidding laws. He wrote fake news stories that were passed around City Hall, causing bafflement.

Four years ago, he was accused of embezzlement in a Monroe County housing project -- but charges were dropped when neither the accuser nor the arresting officer showed up for a hearing.

Lately, he was suspended by the Lincoln Public Service District and sued for alleged failure to deliver election campaign materials.

He became coordinator of the Kanawha County Fair, but was fired in December for taking a county car to Lincoln County without permission. Now the fair itself has been terminated because Gregory solicited funds for it and tried to claim a 30 percent commission for money-raising. He says he has a contract to that effect, but county officials never heard of it.

Local government often is messy, but Gregory seems to be a record-setter.

After reading this artice with all of the proof of wrong doing by this man, I'm absolutely shocked he is allowed to serve the board. What kind of people does Lincoln County have running the show? Sounds like a bunch of quacks. I don't know either of these men, but sounds like something is wrong with this Gregory character, seriously mentally wrong.

It's obvious that Mr. Gregory blackmailed one or more of the county commissioners into getting his job back.

It isn't in the hands of the Commissioners once the appointment is made. There were copies of the appointment letter sent to the PSC and others that proved Mike Mosteller had provided the incorrect information that his term had expired to the commission.

The West Virginia code says this about removing that Board Member:

"§16-13A-3a. Removal of members of public service board.

The county commission or the public service commission or any other appointive body creating or establishing a public service district under the provisions of this article, or any group of five percent or more of the customers of a public service district, may petition the circuit court of the county in which the district maintains its principal office for the removal of any member of the governing board thereof for consistent violations of any provisions of this article, for reasonable cause which includes, but is not limited to, a continued failure to attend meetings of the board, failure to diligently pursue the objectives for which the district was created, or failure to perform any other duty either prescribed by law or required by a final order of the public service commission or for any malfeasance in public office. Any board member charged with a violation under this section who offers a successful defense against such charges shall be reimbursed for the reasonable costs of such defense from district revenues. Such costs shall be considered as costs associated with rate determination by the public service district and the public service commission. If the circuit court judge hearing the petition for removal finds that the charges are frivolous in nature, the judge may assess all or part of the court costs, plus the reasonable costs associated with the board member's defense, against the party or parties who petitioned the court for the board member's removal."

As you can see once the Board Member is appointed the state code protects them from frivolous efforts from people like Mosteller who attempted to eject Gregory from the Board to suit his (mosteller's) purposes.

I don't even know Gregory but I do know that the Rule of Law and not the rule of the jungle is preferred in running our public offices. Mosteller ran up against an ugly thing called THE LAW.

So wrong about being Ron.. But, your Daddy will possibly get another job where his people skills will be an asset. I hear McDonalds is hiring. Slowly, the rats nest in Lincoln County is being uprooted and eliminated.

With McCann declining to run (a wise decision) it is likely Vance and KK will appoint a complementary Board Member to replace Rudy so there won't be inter-faction grief on the Board.

Hmmmm - I also see where you are on a first name basis with County Commissioner Matthews. I also read where Mr Matthews referred to Rudy Thomas as being a friend for a long time. Talk about politics ...

I am not Mr. Gregory. However, it is entirely legal to be on a first name basis with anyone at any time.

What is wrong is the falsifying the term of a commissioner. Poor old Mostettler thought he was the only one with a copy of that appointment letter. But, that wasn't what caused the termination and we will soon know the details. Just like Judy Johnson, Mike will sue based on the premise that to get rid of the bad publicity the County will settle despite the fact the Plaintiff could not win in Court. Will be interesting to see if the Prosecutor provides legal advice to the County since he was a benefactor of a water line that Mike delivered. That will be an interesting deposition.

I am sure that Mr. Mosteller, being the excellent manager that he was while there, knows the protocol of board meetings, since he attended the PSD meetings with the other board members who bothered to show up for them, and I even saw him at most of the County Commission meetings I attended (and watched online by way of the Lincoln Journal videos). The County Commission, since they appoint the PSD Board members, are the ones responsible for sending the appointment letter to the WV PSC, not Mr. Mosteller. So why did they need for him to provide a copy of the appointment letter - do they not keep them on file at the courthouse where the letter originated? For God's sake, doesn't anyone at the County Commission know what they are doing?
