Father grieves for son
by Philip D. Brown58 mins 26 secs ago | 35 views | 0 | 0 || Monday morning was no normal morning for Louis Parker.

He sat bolt upright, after not being able to sleep well, and realized he would have to do something to get his son’s obituary in the newspaper - and make sure his killer is brought to justice.

“All he was doing was trying to borrow $30,” he said.“He was only 23 years old, and now he’s dead.”

Parker’s son, Jeremy, was the victim of a shooting Friday night.

Richmond County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Phil Sweatt said an investigation into the events surrounding the shooting is underway. While no arrests have been made, Sweatt said there is a suspect in the case, and there could be an arrest as early as Tuesday morning.

“Right now, we’re just really working to gather evidence, and see if we can go forward with the case,” he said.

According to a report filed with the sheriff’s office, Parker was found at a trailer on Boyd Lake Road at approximately 20 minutes before midnight.

The report indicates he was shot with a .22-caliber rifle.

Parker’s address is listed as 698 Boyd Lake Road, meaning the incident occurred relatively close to his home.

Parker said he is 56 years old, and had five children.

“Now one of them has been taken away from me,” he said with tears streaming down his cheeks.“I’m an old man, dying anyway, but I just didn’t want to see one of them go before me.”

For Parker, it will be hard to forgive the trespass against his family, perhaps made more difficult because of the circumstances he’s heard surrounding the shooting, and the fact he believes the killer is a family member.

“He already had felonies for shooting up a nightclub on Highway 38,” Parker said of the relative he believes is guilty.“He wasn’t even supposed to have a gun.”

Parker said this senseless act of violence was provoked over a small amount of money.

“All I know is he said he was going to go down there and borrow $30, and he got shot in the arm and then he shot him in the chest,” he said.“He was skinnier than me, all he had to do was hit him upside the head one time and he’d have fell down. He didn’t have to shoot him like that.”

Parker said he would spend Monday arranging for his son’s funeral and getting in contact with the sheriff’s department to assist in their investigation. Through his sorrow and pain Parker had one message he wanted to relay to the person who killed his son.

“Louis Daniel Parker will never forget what you’ve done,” he said.“You’re going to pay for what you did to my son. I may be upset and saying things I shouldn’t, but I’ll never forget what happened to my son.”

I'm so glad an arrest has been made in the shooting of Jeremy Parker. But which is it? He shot him to protect his self from Parker, or he fell and the gun accidently went off? Not once, but twice! I do know for a fact that he was not shot in the front of the body! James is a 44 year old man and Parker was 23. He has sons Jeremy's age! If they ask him to borrow money, is he going to shoot them too? I'd also like to thank The Daily Journal for bringing attention to this case with the piece they did on Jeremy's dad. And thanks for the sheriff's dept for finaly making an arrest. And I hope this investigation is continuing, because it sounds like more that manslaughter to me!

I am Jeremy's mom and was shocked to see this. But I will say a few things, as I do not want to interfere with the investigation.
Jeremy was ambushed by my brother. Jeremy had no weapons. Jeremy was shot twice. Once in the right side and once (in my opinion the back) on the back of his right arm. The bullet that entered the right arm, came out of the arm and then went back in his right side (in the arm pit). I do not know at this time, which was the fatal bullet or if both where. He was shot with an automatic .22 rifle.
In 1991, Buddy went to a bar, and had a confrontation with people in the bar. He then left and went to my dad's house, took some of the guns, went back to the bar, and shot up a girls car and would have killed people had they not ducked or hid. He got probation. Then in 2001 or 2003, he was found with a handgun, in his vehicle, was charged with felony possession of a firearm, was put on probation again. Also, I remembered today, that when Buddy was in school, I can't remember what grade, he carried my dad's daringer to school and was caught with that weapon. My dad had to go to court for that, because Buddy was a minor.
Buddy has shown aggressive behavior with fire arms. And was a felon. Yet he owns 6 guns. One of which he murdered my son. The gun he killed my son with, is the only gun they took from him.
Buddys first story was, Jeremy swung at him, he ducked and the gun shot (twice) as an accident. The story in the paper says, he fell and it discharged twice. So you know when you lie, you have to keep making up lies, cause you can't remember what you said to begin with. The truth never changes.
I also want to say this to any one who reads this. The story that was put in the paper by Jeremy's dad, "Father grieves for son", was okay. Until I got to the part about the obituary and him going to plan his son's funeral. That part made me mad, because he had nothing to with any funeral arrangement. He took it up on himself to find out why the obituary was not in the paper, had he been involved in the funeral arrangements, he would have known why the obituary was not in the Sunday's paper. This man has not given me one dime on the funeral. Nor had he been in Jeremy's life, unless Jeremy went to him.
I also have found out that some man gave Lewis money at the funeral, to pay on the funeral. It has never been taken to the funeral home. The VFW, that Lewis hangs out at has taken a collection and given it to Lewis, none of that has been taken to the funeral home.
Felons, that are felons, due to fire arms should be monitored more closely. If Robert David James aka Buddy, had been abiding by the law, by not having firearms in his possession, he could not have murdered my son.

I found out today, that if you are a felon, you can't have a fire arm that belongs to you. But if you have people living in your home, and they have guns registered to them, It is okay to have the firearms.
Ain't that a crock of home made shit?
Buddy's first appearance in court is scheduled for June 11th. It is subject to change, if the evidence is not here. It is a probable cause hearing.

I can't help but think, "what was Jeremy thinking" as he was being murdered by a greedy madman. It hurts me to know, that he was in so much pain. And that he was not surrounded by people that loved him. No one was there to tell him that they loved him.
I didn't get to tell him bye and that I love him. Not any one of his brothers or sisters got to tell him either.
I hope justice will be served and Buddy get the prison time he deserves. Maybe his reign of hell will stop, for this family.
And if justice is not done here on earth, buddy will have to answer to GOD.

Yes, You are so right Jeremy's mom, if justice had been served on Robert James for the previous felons he committed, then I believe this sensless death of such a young man could have been prevented! Why wasn't Mr. James drug tested? Why wasn't the home searched for more guns? Why wasn't the SBI brought in? What happen to domestic violence? Someone said Jeremy's grandfather lived with Mr. James. A man from my understanding practicaly raised Jeremy. And that is who he went there to see...Sounds like this case was decided the night Jeremy lost his life. Police of all people should know things are not always as they seem. Especially when someone has lost their life at the hands of a realative! I pray for you and your family that you recieves justice in your sons unfortunet loss of life at the hands of an obvious troubled person, whom appears to present his self as a bad a**, but at the same time, always seem to need his guns for back up. I personaly believe the bible...you live by the sword, you die by the sword! I still can't get past the fact at how many times he was allowed to slip through the system! This is outrage! But it's also typical of Richmond Co. Will be watching to see if Richmond County DA finally bring the justice this case deserves! I'll be praying for you and your family!

Your so right, one mother to another. I agree whole heartedly with you. I hope that the Richmond County Sheriffs office and the DA's office can see through Buddy's lies. I can tell you by experience, he is the best lying convincer there is. You can see something with your own eyes, and know you saw it, but he is so good, he will convince you that is not what you saw. It took years, for me and my sister to realize this. He caused so many problems between me and my sister. But one day, we both talked and realized he could brainwash you. So we had to learn mind control, before we could be around him. So we would not fall in to his brainwashing any more. I copied your post and posted it on myspace blog. Thanks...

Buddy James's probable cause hearing has been changed to July 9, 2007. The autopsy report was not back.
His lawyer did try to reduce the bond. And thank God, the judge denied it.
His lawyer also said, in the arguement to reduce the bond, that there had been a struggle between Buddy and Jeremy, and that is how Buddy's cell phone got knocked out of his hand.
Buddy is such a liar. He ambushed Jeremy and shot him twice. Jeremy was DOA at the hospital. I do not trust Buddy and haven't for years.
I hope, when the next probable cause hearing comes to court, he is denied a reduction in the bond again. I fear for the lives of my children and myself, if he can make bail. Buddy is a spawn of hell, and does not care who he has hurt.

An update of what is going on.
the case was bound over to superior court, in July of 2009. On which day, the murderers bond was reduced and he made bail. So, the murder is walking and riding the streets, while Jeremy lay dead in his grave. Murder gets to enjoy his life, while Jeremy is in Heaven.
Days go by, but the memory of that night, still lingers in my mind, as if it happened yesterday.
In the very beginning I wanted murderer dead. I wanted the ones that are not telling the whole truth dead. Because, when murderer murdered Jeremy, then the ones that tell their lies to protect murderer, is just as guilty.
But death is the easy way out for murderer. He will not suffer for his cruelties here. I want murderer and his protectors to suffer here on earth and in hell. So, they can keep up the camoflauge of lies, to try to protect murderer. But, they are forgetting something. And there is nothing they can do to lie their way out. They can not hide the truth then. I might not ever know the real truth. But GOD does!!! They will not fool any one then. No matter what they say, God knows all. God sees all. Those that murdered Jeremy, will meet God and go to hell. In hell, they will suffer for eternity. They will be spending eternity yelling they are sorry, but it will be to late. One lie, that you never correct by telling the truth, will reserve you a spot in hell. One murder, will reserve your place in hell.
The bible says to obey the laws of the land. Does that also mean, that if your a person who is supposed to enforce those laws, but do not enforce them to the best of your ability (or just charge them with something, to get people off of your back), do they go to hell also? I am not sure of the answer to that one, but I would say they would go to hell. Because they lied, when they vowed to look at all evidence and then don't. Only looking for a conviction of some sort, but not really caring.
But it doesn't matter what I think or how I feel. What matters is, when they face God. What will be the out come of it?
The next scheduled court date.. November 2010.
