Thank God for them. My husband hasn't worked since June, (he just went back this week), and my salary wasn't enough to cover all of the bills, let alone food for my family. Glad we were eligible, but hope to get off soon.

and before all the far right (all welfare is bad except for corporations)posters jump all over you.you should feel no shame,the program was designed for the situation you were in.he lost his job through no fault of his own and now you guys are getting back on your feet.

I posted a comment earlier that stated, rules for the food stamp program are implemented differently from county to county i.e., a senior citizens food stamps were cut because her gas utility had been shut off because she couldnt afford to pay it. Yes, the program works for some, but not for all.
