This cannot be true. Obama has stated that the stimulus package is a success. I wish Ohio's Greatest Newspaper would stop reporting science fiction about the myth of unemployed Ohioans.

Un employment should be a single check, no extension , do it like a severence check. Doing it that way will get people looking hard for work sooner

Even with an excellent President like Obama, carrying over an idea born of a Repuk-i-scam President... can have only limited results. Bu$$$h only did it because he didn't wanna' leave the White House as a pariah.
Like getting Osama Bin Laden, that too failed.

Lay off the Colt 45 already, and stop being a drain on people that actually pay taxes.

Please don't confuse the people. Those who have or soon will be exhausting their 99 weeks have no help coming from DC. This so-called "extension" is nothing more than a filing deadline extension. It adds no new weeks of benefits, nor is there any talk whatsoever of doing so.

Yes, this deadline renewal should have been passed back in December - for another year rather than the piecemeal 60 day extension that finally was passed. If they had, we might be able to discuss a Tier V of benefits. But they did what they did, and we suffer.

Such anger from some of you. Whatever happened to compassion for your fellow human beings? Do you honestly think people would rather give up everything they have worked a lifetime for than work? Perhaps rather than passing such harsh judgement based on what you read you should walk a mile in their shoes.

Wow, blame Bush. The ole tried and true fall back plan to cover the failing tracks of the Obama presidency. I guess we will here this hollow refrain from the 'Obama Socialist Zombies' for three more years as 'The Chosen One' leads us through a minefield of failed policies and a real unemployment rate approaching twenty percent.

No President wants to be the one that cuts costs and cuts programs to save money. They want to be the one that spends and brings new things into the country. At some point, someone's going to have to bite the bullet and reign in all these expenses we have. And when I say at some point, I mean preferably very soon. It's not popular maybe, but it needs to be done.

Wrong. Do you realize that other people who are unemployed HAVE NO HELP? Man suck it up!
