With all increases from food, gas, utilities..what in the hell do the officials think would happen? this economy, no jobs..Hell Im single and cant get any help..either way but wont allow one child go hungry if I can help it..Ohio is in dire straits..if you think crime is rampant ..we havent seen anything yet for a morsel of food..

Franklin County needs to re vamp the program for food for single men and women in the same boat as the families..

This is very sad... I think we need a new law where people have to apply for a license to have children. All those children are going hungry because of their irresponsible parents. I feel sorry for all the poor children.

WOW thats some narrow minded thinking. So if the parents got laid off from their job(s), that makes them irresponsible. Thats biggest crock I ever heard. As for the License , if your parents needed one , then you and your narrow minded thinking wouldnt be here, idiot.

I guarantee half of those families dont even need it they are moochers and will take anything they can get for free. It pisses me off that I, a tax payer citizen, has to pay for these moochers getting food stamps. Hell my own biological father mooches the system trying to get something for nothing and has been doing it for 10+ years. I hate people like him that abuse these services!

I don't think this article cites or implies numbers of food stamp recipients. It's more about "food scarcity" of poorer and struggling Americans. I would bet that at least half of all Americans who do qualify for Food Stamps don't even sign up for the program.

I know several people who are "on the line" where they earn too much to qualify for Food Stamps but they desperately need help. And then there's the people who earned enough to afford a certain standard of living, and are now underemployed, unemployed, and caught in the trap of no longer being able to afford the basics.

Deepest and Worst Recession since the 1930's. With this in mind I find it odd that people would use these stories as an excuse to bash the poor.

I thought hispanics were coming here to "feed their families" - oh that's right, on the backs of the American middle class.

Silly me, I thought they were WORKING at JOBS to feed them, not working the SYSTEM........

Gee, and I thought everything was supposed to miraculously get better the second that Kasich was announced as our Governor-elect.
