It seems as though Mr. and Mrs. Francis have chosen to blatantly violate the law by bringing goats on their property knowing it was against the law. They followed the approach of asking for forgiveness versus asking for permission. A major premise of 4-H is citizenship, i.e., complying with zoning ordinances versus blatantly defying them. Additionally, could they put the goats any closer to the neighbor's house? How about showing some good will to the neighbors concerns and how about setting a good example for their children by abiding by laws. Enough - the Francis family should not be placed on a pedastal!!!!!

I would never buy a house that was next to farm animals. The poop! The flies! The mud! The noise! The smell!

It's funny how some people move out into rural areas, then become offended at typical rural activities. Three goats are not going to be an odor problem, and their garden will benefit greatly from the fertilizer. Of course, those complaining probably wouldn't dream of getting a little garden dirt on their hands.

The Francis' should be commended for providing the opportunity for their children to learn about animal husbandry, especially in a 4H setting. It's better than having the kids sitting in front of a TV or gaming screen hours on end.

Those whining vociferously about such rural activities should either come to their senses or move back to the city where they belong.

Id rather live next to farm animals than the not neighborly people that have moved into Leesburg.

The farm laws seem to change year to year with each and every SNOB that wants to live in the country. 3 acres is plenty of land for a few goats.
Next they will be complaining that the neighbors vegetable garden is to big, it attracts rabbits and bees OH MY!!

Moving next to a farm is exactly what I did. Theres no smell noise or complaints from the cows or the horses. They all seem reasonable and keep to themselves.

To Lady Madonna without AMERICAN farms we do not eat! I suggest you and the complainers move to a City.

The Francis family could be commended for their involvement in 4-H if the CHILDREN actually took care of the goats .... Mrs. Francis is the primary caretaker and rarely (usually if media are present) are the children involved!!!!

Liberal carpetbaggers such as "Rose Hill neighbor" and "Lady Madonna" need to move back far north (Canada to North Pole) to the snob land where they belong. We are a community of families trying to be self-sufficient by keeping livestock for survival during these hard times. We don't need these liberal carpetbaggers to dictate what we can do and don't with our own property. These same people bring perversions from the city and want to pervert our children. GO BACK AND STAY OUT!!!

WOW - you must have some major issues to be so hateful and judgmental!!!! Perversions --- pervert our children --- some realy strong language. Hope your children don't internalize your hate and lack of tolerance for different opinions - disagreeing is one thing but such hateful language is totally not acceptable!
