To all respectable nurses out there, stay away from Golden Living if you want to keep a clean work record and nursing license! The facility is led by a crooked old battle axe named Loxie Ehlers, who will go out of her way to increase her census numbers despite the risks that the nursing staff and other residents are subject to face by accepting psychotic residents! In fact, the facility is earning the reputation of being a B&B of nursing homes, meaning they only accept behaviors and bariatrics.
The place has the crappiest benefits you will ever see in healthcare and the staff is enormously under-appreciated, which explains the extremely high turnover rate in employees. Do yourself a favor and avoid this facility if you are looking for employment.

then why is it that there are so many who leave us at Duffs to go work at the oh so wonderful Golden Living?
I like my job and the people I work with and the residents I care for.

And don't forget that you can see the Rescue squad up there pretty much on a daily basis! I see them there all the time for numerous reasons. I never see them at Duff's and hardly ever at the ambassidor.

For one, most people leave Duff's because it does not pay as well and they lack adequate resources for the aides. I am sure you probably do like your job there, especially if you are an aide and do not have to directly work with management. I agree that the residents are great too. No one ever said there was a problem with the residents....

not sure which management you are referring to but, one of them is my family, fyi. And I do enjoy working with all of them.
