Beck's Farm closing store on W. Central

Full story: Kansas.com

We want children to come to the farm. So I'm getting back to the farm myself. A rural Newton grower is leaving its Wichita retail store after two years. But Sarah Beck and Beck's Farm have no plans to disappear from the local home-grown market. via Kansas.com

We are new to the Wichita area and have been told we can purchase fresh peaches at Beck's Farms. Where are you located and do you have a web page with related information. Thank you.

There is a great orchard in Conway Springs just south of Wichita. They let you pick your own (and eat) or have some pre-picked for you. Really nice people and great fruit. Becks does not let you pick or even touch what you want to by and not as friendly in my experience. you'll love the experience in Conway. Just ask anyone for directions when you get to the small town.

Becks farm shop is really expensive. bought 1 small bushel of pears & 1 jar of jelly & 1 jar of preserves & the total bill came to $48! When I got home I looked at my receipt & the Preserve was almost $9 & the jelly was just a dollar cheaper. That leaves $31 paid for 10 pears. Plus the pears were soft & mushy, had bruises all over them plus quite a few of them had splits in the skin & the pear juices oozed all over the inside of the basket. I will not be doing anymore shopping there! I have heard rumours that they are closing. With those prices, it doesn't really surprise me. I say good riddance!

I am sorry to hear about your experience at Beck's Farm. I have been shopping there for years. I know that if you mention your bad pear incounter... they will be more than happy to make it right with you. Talk to Sarah when you go in. She goes out of her way to make sure that everyone is satisfied. And I don't believe that they are going out of business, but they are going to expand their business at the farm. Give them another chance. I know they will make it right!

Web site states pumpkin patch. There is no pumpkin patch. A "maize" through peach trees roped off by tape - SUPER JOKE!

Daily Horoscope for November 26

Virgo

The mysterious Moon helps you feel quite generous and passionate today and others will notice and respond in kind. Some of you may be overwhelmed by the uncharacteristic need to indulge like crazy, more like a Taurus enjoying a Bacchanalian reverie. Go ahead and let it flow; this is a great day for you to wallow in the mud with the rest of the zodiac.
