Awe, I know it isn't the state of Kentucky. But that doesn't have anything to do with who would be running the institution. If this group is wanting to open some sort of facility it would most likely be CCA doing the day to day things in the facility. They could sell it or lease it, but that is quite unusual for the company.

But then it would also be a pretty big step for Correct Health to open any sort of facility. They are a health care provider, and nothing more. They are involved in corrections in that they provide health care services inside correctional facilities. If they're the ones looking at the facility it would mean they have some thought of going in a different direction. Since it is a company owned by physicians it would be shocking for them to leave their area of expertise and attempt to open and operate a correctional facility. If anything they could be planning on it being a facility for sick inmates from different locations, and they'd need CCA to provide the corrections part of the equation while they provide the health care.

Don't know if it is true about the prison reopening on July 1, chances are very good that it is misinformation. That aside, I'd be surprised if Greg Compton was made warden. If they had him in mind for being a Warden he would have likely been named AW rather than bringing in Danny Christmas. Having never been an AW it would be very unusual for CCA to move him all the way up to Warden. I'm not saying it couldn't happen- but it isn't likely.
Can you tell me what date CCA closed the prison last year?

Have you heard the (regular, it seems) rumors that it will reopen, somehow?

Why wouldn't CCA be the one to reopen the prison they own? It isn't as if the state can just decide to take over, and the budget doesn't have room to buy a multi-million dollar prison without doing some major changes. If the place reopens this summer it would be shocking for anyone other than CCA to be running the place.
CCA won't reopen for the same reason they shut it down, to much banjo music being played up there.

BREAKING NEWS: The Prison will be open as of April 2015. Plans leaked so far are, The last hardcore Gitmo detainees will be transferred there. The theory is, seeing the devastation in and around Wheelwright and meeting elected city officials will finally cause them to crack, and yield needed information. If all else fails, they will be threatened with release in Wheelwright.
It's the guy with all the knowledge he must continuously study on the facts and history of Wheelwright. I bet the hole he lives in is lined with crayon drawings and newspaper clippings of the great city. He only comes out a couple of times per year but when he does all of this "great" knowledge is released. When he posts to the internet you know he is out and being a screen warrior.
