Relocation to East Texas

Our family is facing a possible relocation to East Texas... an area which we are completely unfamiliar with. Being a parent to 2 young children, I am concerned with finding an overall decent area to live and of course, great schools. Any information you can provide will be helpful, especially areas that we should/should NOT consider and reasons why. There will be a commute to the Shreveport/Mansfield area of Louisiana involved. Any areas that aren't too bad of a commute will be considered. THANK YOU!

I too, am wanting to relocate to east Texas, from way up in Northeast Arkansas. Marshall is close to LA but that's the only one I really know anything about. I've spent a lot of time researching different towns and I think we've settled on hallsville since it's close to Longview and the bigger towns. I heard Hallsville has good schools, and somebody suggested tatum. I have only visited Texas once when I was a kid but I think I will LOVE Texas. Good luck.
I have just done searches for east texas towns then looked up the data for each town.
