The methodology of the main study mentioned was poor, almost designed to provide a negative result. The programs monitored were designed for quite young children and didn't provide for continuing reinforcement of the abstinence message.
A valid study would include programs that targeted students at the ages when young people are most likely to become sexually active and that provide a continuing reinforcement of the message.
