Bottom line is that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but if you live in the past or hate for no reason, it's all ridiculous.
Black folks claim to dislike white folks because of how "they" were treated as slaves and white folks dilike black folks because they carry on about what happened when "they" were slaves and want reparitions for it. NOBODY who is alive in the US is or was a slave. NOBODY deserves anything for something that happened before any of us were born. People like Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton, who go around under the pretense of preaching equality, do nothing but stir crap and get everyone mad at each other. Everytime a black person commits a crime, the NAACP shows up and makes excuses for them. I took a class once that taught us that you should treat a young, single, black mother differently than a white one. THIS IS PROFESSIONALISM????
Did you know that there were white slaves, too?
There are people who are unhappy with everything and ride on the "I'm black and mistreated" skirts of their ancestors, when life is really what you make it. You make the choice to get up every day and either be happy or unhappy. Stop blaming people around you for where you're at.
ANYBODY who raises their child to hate someone becuase of the color of their skin is WRONG. And anybody who raises their child to live in the past is wrong. America has more issues than skin color that is ripping us apart. I'd say that if you're not having something to do with someone because they're a different color than you, then you're probably only cheating yourself.
I have friends who are the opposite color of me and don't have a prejudiced bone in my body, but I do resent having to listen to how mistreated one's ancestors were and expect special opportunities because of it. If that's the case, then lets not just stop at color, lets take everything into consideration. How about every victim in the past. Every decendent of someone who was wrongly assaulted, murdered, etc. Lets all sue and get OUR reparations. If America owes black folks for their great, great, great, great, great, great, great grantfather's slavery, then I want in on what's owed to me for my great, great, great, great, great, grandfther's tee pee being taken away from him and interest added with it.(Makes about as much sense.)
In a perfect world, noboby would judge anybody and would form their own opinions and form friendships that way. Unfortunately, there's always someone spewing poision and infecting peoples' minds. If we would all learn to think for ourselves and not let the ignorant sway our opinoins, it'd be a better place. Bottom line: I don't owe you anything and you don't owe me anything. Judge me by how I treat you, not by how I look and I'll do the same for you. Thankfully, my parent taught me that and I've taught the ones I'm raising the same thing. "ANYBODY who is mistreated, stand up for them because it's not right. No matter who they are. And treat people how you want to be treated." Live by God's rules and you can't go wrong.
