Well, the preliminary budget is $44.9 million with a surplus of $190K, Tim Britton told us earlier this year that reduced contributions to Robin Hood will net us an extra $1.6 million to cover the expected $300K salary increase for teachers. Why the tax rate increase? Here's why...$720K for a copier contract.$70K to teach teachers how to prepare for TAKS.$185K for a "wellness benefits package" for district employees. These trustees need to get a handle on wasteful spending before asking us to up the tax ante!
