Self-serving? How? You think your judgment of me means ANYTHING to me at all? You're an anonymous poster on the web.

Typical christer.

In reality this entire discourse began with Peter's preeminent, definitive and self serving interpretation of scripture. Yet nary a word from you. That is, not until I had the temerity to disagree with him.
Only then do you raise your voice in selective and hypocritical indignation.
I JUDGE you an unconscionable, ballbreaking phony.
Facepalm that.

The bible says bats are birds in leviticus 11. It's not a matter of interpretation. The same book says rabbits chew their cud. These are flat-out wrong. YOU need to read your book; I have more than once.

So clearly you are lying when you say if one word is wrong, you'd have to decide if every other word is wrong as well.

Not exactly sure what you're referring to, but have an idea.
Just know that not only do I believe God's Words are / have been / will be attacked, but also our English language as well.
Just one, of many examples is the word sick -used to mean one thing (not well), but today it may mean awsome, great, etc......
Do you know just how many different bible translations there are, just in the English language?
Have you ever wondered why soooo many?
Have you ever looked at Acts 8 : 37 in different so called translations?
Many,if not most "christians hold to a "works" based salvation, even though most proclaim the Gospel, they still have their own "list" of things one must do, in order to obtain, or keep said salvation.
The verse I've given, is one of many that "should " make any interested, to be asking why???

Bats are not birds.

Leviticus 11 isn`t that long, but I`ll spoonfeed you. Bats are listed as birds in lev 11:13-19. Rabbits are mentioned in lev 11:5-6.

Don't have time to look at rabbit verses, but as far as the bat being listed among the birds, that were not good for food, then that simply means God considers the bat to be a bird.

So again, if God says a bat is a bird, then a bat is a bird.

Instead of going with what any man calls a bat, I'll go with what God calls a bat, whether or not the bats the verse is referring to, is the same as the bats we have today or not, but cp the bible is many many books written over a long span of time, so is this the best you can come up with, to try and discredit Gods Word?

I don't have to take the whole of anything any particular way.
It is easy to see what might be metaphors, what might be inspired prophecy, or governing control methods and what might be literal.
You are not in charge here and nobody has to explain or answer to you.
The Dead Sea Scrolls have been buried underground therefore in better shape although fragile.
"I don't have to take the whole of anything any particular way."

Which is one reason why Christianity is so inconsistent.

"It is easy to see what might be metaphors, what might be inspired prophecy, or governing control methods and what might be literal."

All very subjective...which is one reason why Christianity is so inconsistent.

"You are not in charge here and nobody has to explain or answer to you."

Neither are you...or any of the other fundies.

"The Dead Sea Scrolls have been buried underground therefore in better shape although fragile."

And nobody thought to do that with the Gospels? Guess they weren't really all that important.

Miss Katie,I tried to respond to your post but couldn't. My apologies for that. That said, your link showed a "supposed" "person" in ONE town putting a picture of a baby captioned "not just a clump of cells" in Halloween bags. The posters Elise and playa made it seem like it was about deaf babies killed during an abortion pictures. A bit dramatic on their part.

UNICEF(a HUGE abortion and contraception company) has been country wide for decades soliciting for money on Halloween. This is okay by y'all? It didn't belong in my Halloween pumpkin, nor my children's. Where are the voices in disgust over that?

Silence for over fifty yrs about it. Comments anyone?
