Huge 42-inch Samsung Nexus S, definitely not pocketable

Full story: www.examiner.com

It's unclear if the Samsung Nexus S will be a huge seller, but this particular version of it is definitely a huge device. It's a 42-inch version of the stock Android-powered "Google phone," with a multitouch screen, no less. The device passes all the processing to a real Samsung Nexus S.

yes and no....

no : the first flat screen TV was invented in July 1964 by a team at the University of Illinois. At the time the school's computers were built using regular computer monitors,

yes : 1997, Sharp and Sony introduced the first large flat screen TV. It was created using the PALC technology and measured 42 inches, a record size at the time. This first model sold for more than $15,000

More trivia:

The meaning of the term has changed over time too. I remember "flat screen" CRT monitors and worked at a computer shop which sold them. They were called "flat screens" because the face of the CRT had no curvature, unlike most CRT monitors and televisions at the time. Then once LCD and plasma technology expanded from just laptop usage, the term flat screen became pretty much exclusively associated with them.
