Speaking up for your rights is not at issue...it is the nasty rumors you start that no one likes. And vote? There's no one to vote for. All who are currently running will win by default.
AIM, If you know me personally and want to discuss what you think is a nasty rumor I've started, let's meet face to face. I'm all for discussing anything that I feel is important enough to support. I also make a practice of not starting rumors, that is why I attend all the meetings, although sometimes they are difficult to follow because sometimes the ordinances are not explained prior to the voting.

This is ridiculous who has time to even attend meetings when you have jobs. And writing a letter to the town should be sufficient enough for now. I know this post is old and I ate the 30 dollars, but what steams me now is if your water gets cut off due to say um not being able to pay your waterbill on time they charge and EXTRA $100 reconnect fee, as if we are not already paying enough now to them. This is outrageous and being in a town meeting wont help so im extremely outraged by this. The ORDINANCE is not written in stone and it needs to change or I wont be one who would even lift my finger to vote next go round. Sincerely a very unhappy citizen of CB!!!

all utilities charge a reconnect fee, whether its water and sewer, cable tv or electric. maybe you should change your priorities. I'm sure you are watching your HBO movies, have plenty of cigarettes and beer or liqour. cut back on other luxeries and you can pay your water bill

If water meters were put in and week enders only paid for what water they used the town would loose a lot of money. If the town tried to still get as much as they are now the full time residents bill would be really high.
yea right

Week enders would pay the same, has nothing to do with meters unless you use over 5000 gal per month. The basic cost to operate and debt service divided by number of connections is what determines the cost. Only thing meters will do is confirm week enders use less water than full time residents.

where has all the money gone ? most of properties are vacant most of the time? and we have been having storm water issues for years, I guess that's another dept. took two years to get someone out to open plugged pipe under Irving Ave, two guys came out dug gigantic hole put some ugly barrels out left them for about a year and a half, after many complaints finally to Richmond a couple more guys came out drilled some holes in an old stop sign, put it over the now completely plugged pipe and then went on down the road, and left the homeowners to deal with the continuing flooding and mold problems.

$10 X 3 mos.=$30 quarter increase and .........we pay $180 now +$30 =$210 beginning next quarter and NO ONE complained! Granted the pipes need repair but I sure hope we see something happening soon for the money we are paying. If my memory serves me, this is the second increase in a short period of time.
www.colonialbeachva.net hasn't changed their website to reflect the increase yet but if you call they will tell you the same as I just did.
The Town raised water bill 25$ a quarter..your current bill represents 2 things first the increase of 25$ on current rate of water plus 210$ plus 25$ more for the period of July through September that was supposed to be on last bill but was not added to that previous bill total for water is 235$ and the other 25$ is what they forgot to add on the July to September bill..I hope this clears things up..

FYI, the dollar sign goes BEFORE the number. Just thought a town council candidate would be expected to know that.

Probably just an oversight. Give him a break. He can put the $ UNDER the numbers for all I care as long he's ethical and provides that 4th vote for change when he gets on council.

Mr. Flammer, I have read many of your posts going back to before I bought a home here over a year ago and would gladly display one of your signs in my yard on third street. I hope you get the needed votes to become a catalyst for change in this town.

<quoted text>This should be addressed soon. It is unbelievable that there are entities that do not pay for for water and sewer. It must stop! They should be advised now that they are responsible for paying this fee, beginning Jan. 11, 2013.
To Ed Gunderson, Unbelievable, smartassofficial and everyone on this post. Let me tell you the CBVFD DOES pay a water/sewer bill each quarter and has been for over a year!

Do You mean The big glass waterfront house that the Town taxpayers paid to have build to house their beloved manager?
