Call in the navy seals, but that would leave us with no proof of what happened though.

This could overtake streaking as the new stealth recreational pastime of C'ville -- seeing who can sneak what kind of vehicle over the bridge, and under what level of govt's noses. Heard a Smart car got across it the other day, but no photos to prove it. I'm going to try for a Clydesdale-drawn Budweiser wagon, delivering the load to JPA Fastmart on a UVa football game day when the cops are in the intersection directing traffic.

If you are a doing this at a reasonable speed and very cautiously, I don't see what the problem is. Yes, I understand, it COULD be dangerous... just like sex, drugs (prescription of course), rock and roll, driving, flying, spelunking, walking down a any sidewalk, living. The people complaining about this are the ones who don't have motorcycles and are really pissed they can't do this in their cars... I know I'm jealous.

As soon as someone is injured it won't be such a laughing matter. You are not allowed to drive over the bridge because it is dangerous to do so.

As long as the bike's not hurting the bridge, I don't care. And as I don't see any logical way the bike is harming the bridge...

The motorcycle is using the same cross path as pedestrians and bicyclists...
Also, I like how no attempt was made to nail the guy. I would like to read a news article with his name and his punishment!

If it says only foot and bicycle traffic, that's all that should be crossing the bridge. All you clowns will be the first to scream when someone breaks the rules and it costs you, but it's OK otherwise. Your attitudes represent why there is no regard for the law anymore, and everyone drives like an A@@hole!

I say get off the bike and just push the thing across the bridge. Jeez!

I enjoy how people are making snide remarks about motorists not allowed to cross the bridge. But I can assure you these same people would be complaining until they were blue in the face if there was an area blocked off to bicyclists and bicyclists were still riding through.

If the scooter kids want to start a new business they should start ferrying people across the bridge for $5 per ride so the person does not have to actually walk or exercise. I love the fact that this is actually a news story, highly critical event that must be talked about. Lord knows we should not talk about how stupid the City Planners and VDOT are with the planning for this repair.

He should go ride across the rutted, muddy, pitted, gravelly detour that the city has so graciously provided instead. That's a much safer crossing.

Can I turn off my motor and shove my 4Runner across? This repair, while necessary, is costing me easily 2 hours per week in commuting. I hope some incentives can be issued to get this done more quickly.

We should send in homeland security to solve this crime even if it means using dadt seals. A small nuke should solve this.
