"According to police, Maryland troopers at the Hagerstown barracks were advised at about 6 p.m. Saturday that West Virginia state troopers where pursuing a 2007 GMC Canyon truck into Maryland on U.S. 11."

Really? "where pursuing"? My goodness, Public Opinion, it's not even a homophone error -- just a foolish, pseudo-journalistic failure to proofread. Sad, sad, sad.

Mental problems. Assaulting a West Virginia state trooper suggests anger management issues, total lack of self-control, possible brain rot from low quality moonshine.

No matter what the age, a fool is a fool. Put that fool behind the wheel and you just handed him a deadly weapon. If he has a "history" concerning his temper, throw him in jail for a year or two. 75 or 25, the situation was very dangerous for everyone close to the areas involved. He could have killed someone.

Maybe he was bored & wanted some excitement. Gosh darn it, where's the grandkids when you need 'em; if they only would have come to visit to keep him occupied; or maybe he just got tired of cookin' his own meals. Think of the stories he'll be able to share w/his cell mates... Yep, I hauled off & hit 'em one, ran from 'em, caused up a ruckus with several of 'em, wanted to see who could catch me..... WOW gramps, now look where you'll be & what you'll be doing. Was it worth the excitement to finish out your life with such a bang? Things that make you say, hummmm.

I already know this story. Come on folks, 75 yrs, no previous arrests? This is a classic, cops all pumped up and ready to mace and displace someone. I have been there! If the cops weren't chasing someone, they would be chasing someone.

By the way, can anyone out there tell me why cops drive faster than the speed limit, but arrest you if you do??????? No lights, No siren, they are talkin on their cell, drivin fast, faster, fastest! Do they have some kind of special pass, to pass everyone? Next time I see a cop driven faster than the limit, I'm going to get behind him to see if maybe the state raised the limit! If he is doin 80 mph, I guess it's ok for everyone to do 80? I mean I cop would'nt do nuttin wrong, would he?
