Looks like a reality...

Way to GO Congress... Way to GO Obama....

After enduring a pay freeze since 2010, NOW the regular old government workers will have to forfeit being PAID?

THINK about it people...

No FBI ( to stop Terrorism/ Crime) No Border Patrol ( to protect our borders) No Food Inspectors ( to keep FOOD safe) No IRS ( to issue your tax return) No Civilian Military workers ( to support our troops) No CDC ( to control disease)

HELL... we have Federal PRISONS in Ashland, Manchester,Lexington, and right HERE in EKY,(Martin county) who is gonna keep the inmates from escaping?

It was Obama's idea in the first place. He suggested it with his cronies and voted for it! Now, he lies and blames the Republicans. Wow, that's getting old. We really do need to cut down on the amount of government employees, though. We already have over 30% too many. They may actually have to work now. Wouldn't that be crazy?

The president has a choice where to make the cuts. 85 million out if a 3.5 trillion budget is not even noticeable. If he took that from the billions that he's giving Green energy companies, no services would be interrupted.

The govt needs to cut more than a measly 85 million. This is nothing but scare mongering. If you had 100 to buy gas and lost a dollar, you'de still be able to buy gas (and it'll take that much these days).

No. This is entirely political. Designed at the Whitehouse, executed by the Whitehouse with the Republicans playing the bad guy. All these people are actors. While we bicker and argue, the erode more rights leading to their desired end; a police state.

How many furlough days are they forced to take a year?

The State forced furlough days about 2-3 years ago. It sucks when you have bills to pay and you are a day short on your paycheck.

I am not sure on a definite number... I have heard any where from 14 to 22 days. And it isn't Congress or the POTUS that will be giving up their pay. It is the Postal worker, the Social Security worker, the FBI agent, the US attorney, the Border Patrol agent, the Food Inspector, the Corrections Officer, the Museum worker, the Secretary, etc.... The regular Middle Class working person making 35,000 to 80,000 a year, just trying to survive like the rest of us. ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

Our Fore Fathers would have been SHOOTING by now!!!!

The state furloughed during 2011. Six days. Three that were days where all agencies were closed and three that the employees were able to pick that kept the offices open.

The one big draw on the budget, teachers were not included though they could have used some of those summer days for theirs.
