From the sales scam of starting with an outrageous quote and lowering it greatly to the total amateurish, messed-up installation, during which they broke something of ours and then lied about it! They guarantee to save on your heating bill, but when it doesn't, just try to collect the difference! And for the "lifetime guarantee" replacement/repairs, beyond 1 year they don't cover screens, and for the rest, charge $85 service charge for the first hour and $45 for each subsequent hour.

They messed me over with many of the complaints above. They are great at lying and not hororing their promises.

I used to sell for them. They are just like car dealers in that they try to get all the money that they can from you.
I think that the window is a good window,but they are over priced.
I am surprised about the stories that they will not warrantee the product however.But it is entirely believeable.
They screw their sales staff out of commissions,if they can. They can't keep people.
After I quit them, they called me back twice to work for them again.
I WAS BORN AT NIGHT BUT NOT LAST NIGHT.
I refused because I will not be associated with someone like that.
Shop around. There are other companies out there.

I called Barrier Windows in 2012,and told them that one of the springs in the window they installed is broken. They told me that someone would look at it and charge me a service fee, plus charge me another fee to fix the window. When they installed the windows in 2006, I have a written Life Time Warranty, that if I have any problems to call them. I should not be charged for extra fees. I paid 7,000 dollars for 3 windows and 3 doors. I also have a problem with one of the doors they installed. They never installed the rubber piece on the bottom of door, so air is coming through and window leaks on door. We contacted Barrier Windows a few times but no one showed up. I am from Latham, NY and would appreciate if someone will write back. I am very disappointed with with Barrier Windows and they should fix these problems with no extra charges to me.

Jane they are going to jerk you around as long as they can to discourage you.
They should nt charge you but they are going to try to.
Before I would give them a dime, I would buy the HOME DEPOT replacement window.
I bought 7 of them and paid $2500. for them.
Get the better one though with the double locks.

I agree 100%. Purchased an overhead door and an entry door. Product is pure junk and the service stinks. Once they get your money they forget who you are. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from these con artists. They are totally unscrupulous. Learn from my mistakes!

Dont work for barrier they lie tom kaulback lies to the sales rep on a 3rd party call to close the deal as well as tony barrier windows is a rip off they should be arested for lieing to costomers

i recently had a roof that needed to be repaired and they gave us wrong parts, they gave my folks a hard time on the phone and then decided that we weren't worth helping out and fixing a bad roof that needed repaired and so they packed up their stuff and left and then started working on someone else's house. to me this is a scam and will always will be never get a new roof or any kind of service from these people!!! would not recommend it!

They have put me on their robo call list, and they call at least 20 times a day now! They call anytime, as late/early as 5am!!! It's not a human, its an automated message saying they're sorry they missed my call.....this is harassment of an unbelievable magnitude! 9 times out of ten it doesn't even leave a message, it just clicks a few times before hanging up.

I know how they got the number too, a fake contest at countryjam, syracuse with pretty girls asking people if they wanted to sign up to win tickets nobody ever won

Have you checked with the State Atty. General's office?
I would think that this got to be illegal.
You signed up for free tickets , not a million unnecessary phone calls !!!!

I so agree .. please contact us at georgeschls@aol.com ASAP. We are still having problems with our windows after 5 years and refuse to pay the service call.

Not only was the installation shoddy, they did not back up their warranty. The 'Premium' siding we got cracked The first winter it was up. We tried calling to get it replaced and they gave us a phone number to contact regarding the siding. We were told by that number that they were not the ones that Barrier claimed they were providing. Barrier quit answering my phone regarding this mess. Many of the windows in the house would not completely shut after they were installed. Nothing short of dishonest scum. I have no idea how people like this can live with themselves.

and won if u were lied to by barrier windows in westmoreland u could win to.they lied to me about my payment and the window siding and doors that i got. what a crapy service. i took them to court and won over 50,000 dollars. and so could u if u were lied to by them. the sales rep called there boss tom and he said my payment would be 150 a month at 4.99% and it was 439 a month at 29.99%. do not by from them

From day one, we had these windows installed and re-installed. Their installers leave MUCH to be desired. They finally satisfied me with their install.

I have had many problems with the windows, cranks falling apart, sticking etc...Most of which I never complained about, I just lived with it

Recently we had a major seal failure, and they REFUSE to live up to their lifetime warranty. They were rude on the phone, and I feel totally betrayed as a customer.

I will never use them again, and suggest that you look elsewhere for a better product. I spent almost 14,000 dollars and I am stuck with windows that I can not look through.

Buyer beware, if you want to buy based on a "lifetime warranty" You WILL be disappointed.

$14,000 ! I would be on the phone with an attorney today.
Also contact the state Attorney Generals Office. They must be building a thick case file on these guys by now. Hopefully they will do something about these guys someday soon.

My friend used to work for this company, they misclassify their W-2 employees as 1099's. They fired all the employees a few years ago, and told them they could all be rehired as soon as they ran down and set up their own businesses. They gave the employees the exact same billouts they had before they fired them and told them they weren't paying a penny more. They dock your pay for all sorts of illegal reasons. When your comp and other insurance lapse's because you can't afford the premiums, they start taking it out of your check. They force people to drive 3 1/2 hours radius of barrier for work. They also force employees to work for free, or else threaten to fire them - and around here, what choice do people have? They swindle senile old people and mentally incompetent people out of their last dime. No one at the company has a conscience. I hope and pray the IRS, AG of NY, FTC, and every other agency investigates these jerks, and they get a loving spoonful of about time karma.
