http://thesecret.tv/secret-to-you/

But it's more profound than you might imagine.

This is precisely why Obama will be re-elected for a 2nd term.
What he's doing is bringing hope in the same way that Ronald Reagan did.

No one will be elected President without bringing hope.

Contrast this with the Republicans and Tea Party and you'll see exactly why they will not win in any big way.
They are the Parties of "no", "we can't", "it costs too much", "it's bad", "shoot them", "doom and gloom", "death", "health care is bad", "social security can't last",...absolutely everything negative they can think of.

In contrast Ronald Reagan gave the US hope...the "shining city on the hill", "the best days of America are coming", "the USSR will collapse", etc. etc.

I am absolutely 100% positively certain that Republicans will not regain the Presidency in 2012 as long as they have a negative message... and there is zero evidence they are going to be anything but.

I am also just as certain that Obama will succeed in putting the US back on track to being a force for good and progress in the world.

Of course the nay-sayers have nothing but negativity to promote.
It's a failing strategy, and they will ultimately not succeed.

Now does anyone actually know what "The Secret" is?
I do.
And I imagine there's going to be a lot of people here typing away trying to find out, and then discrediting it.
But that will fail also.

There's one major difference between President Reagan and President Obama.

President Reagan never waived from his beliefs. You always knew where he was coming from. From his first speeches to his last, he always believed we were the greatest country in the history of the world. We were the "last bastion of freedom".

I have a book of his speeches. And in his inaugural in 1981, his famous line about "Big government isn't the solution to our problems, big government IS the problem!" was an ad lib. It's not in the written text.

President Obama read a book about Reagan while on vacation. But reading a book can't make him Reagan. He can be Reaganesque, but he has already made a sharp turn to the center to position himself for his 2012 run. That's not Reagan, that's CLINTON.

President Reagan worked with the Democrats. he worked closely with Liberal Senator Bill Bradley to reform the tax laws and give a major tax cut to the people. He got his legislation through the House because he got along very well with Speaker "Tip" Oneil. Reagan COMPROMISED, but knew the American people were behind him.

The last two years saw no compromise at all. Laws were written behind closed doors by one party and the minority party wasn't even allowed at sit at the table, let alone have any input. So why on earth should they support anything from that closed door session?

If President Obama wants to emulate Reagan, he MUST stay true to his beliefs. And we saw those beliefs in his first two years. But he's already abandoning them.

He has his base (you) wrapped up. But the base doesn't win elections. The Independents do. And there's no evidence yet they are coming back to give him a second chance.

If obama wins a second term then we are really doomed - it'll be the end of the USA and the beginning of another suburb of beijing.
Better get your kids to start learning chinese, they will need it to converse with their new masters.

Jeff, the major difference between you and I is;
I didn't vote for Obama or Reagan, nor do I ever vote for either of the major parties.

Every time anyone say's I voted for _____, they're misrepresenting who I am.
I will not vote for anyone who misrepresents me.

It's like having your car fixed by a guy who overcharges you and doesn't fix the vehicle.
Then you tell someone else the service was great and they should take their car there also.
With friends like you, who needs enemies?

I liked Reagan, I just didn't vote for him.
I liked Carter also, I didn't vote for him either.
Reagan and Clinton created more jobs than any other President of the 20th century.
Bush Jr. had 8 years and didn't create any.
Obama hasn't created any either, but he's only been in for 2 years.

Does that mean the other party has the solution?
No evidence of that either.

Another doomsday'er... <sigh>
I've been hearing that kind of talk since I was born, and history tells us that talk was around long before you or I were born.
And they've never once been right yet.

Would I trust the other party to make things right?
You've gotta be kidding me.

Most of what got us here was from laws the last President signed into law.

12 years of Congress was held by Republicans, with 8 years in the Executive...
you got what you paid for;

no time to review prior laws, but plenty time for $1 trillion war that had no end game with no direct benefits. No child left behind, no infrastructure improvements, etc etc...

...but plenty new secrets, backroom dealings, kickbacks, bailouts, eavesdropping, intelligence gathering, nepotism, militarism, police state boosting, stem cell research ban, deregulation, and a tightening of other government agencies so they couldn't do anything about reports of misdoings FCC-OSHA etc., and on top of that a whistle-blower crackdown that resulted in crooks like Bernard Madoff stealing billions.

You know, the things that made America great.
And the other major party is going to make everything alright?
Can I sell you a bridge to no where?

From your postings you are a Liberal. You espouse Liberal ideas and the Liberal agenda. So you are in Obie's base.

I am a Conservative Libertarian. I believe in LESS government and more personal responsibility.

I'm not your "enemy". I'm just an American who loves his country and believes it's on the wrong track heading toward Socialism.

Bush was a LOUSY President. But when you consider the alternatives in 2000 and 2004 he was the best of a bad bunch.

I'm a Liberal with a big L, AND in Obama's base no less?

Jeff, you've no idea what you're talking about.
If you've read my posts, I'm quite sure I've made it clear that I never voted for Obama or a Democrat, nor would I ever vote for any Republican.
But I do vote.
I don't know how that puts me in Obama's base?

You say you are a Conservative Libertarian?
Good for you then I guess.
It reminds me of Frank Zappa referring to himself as a Practical Conservative.
I wouldn't be able to tell that from your voting record, or the people you vote for I'm sure.

The reality is that you are being manipulated by powerful people that could care less what you call yourself, and just as importantly, what you call them.

You say Socialism is bad, yet offer little proof as to why, and more importantly offer no demonstrable evidence as to what the opposite of that is (Individualism?) and/or why it was lost.
Maybe you're an Individualist Conservative Libertarian Capitalist Judea Christian?
For all I know or care.

You say Bush Jr. was lousy, but better than the alternative?
That's the same way people thought after Bush Jr. also.
When you vote for the lesser of 2 evils, you're still voting for evil.

The old saying about 'hanging together or hanging separately' should have little meaning to you then....but I won't let little Socialistic facts like that interfere with your superior ideology.
