Mr ed ,highly intoxicated should have been admitted to the hospital where he should have received the medical help he needed. And perhaps there his addiction would have been addressed and the walls of denial would have been broken down. Perhaps that would have been his life saving time.l perhaps its time for society to reach out and realize addiction is a real problem and human beings need help. Jail isn't the only answer.

He acted that way because of his addiction to alcohol.I have known ed for 26 years. He behaves badly because of his alcohol addiction. He needs to get help. He needs the wall of denial broken down. Ed is not a bad person. He behaves badly because of the alcohol. Ed is actually a smart, talented, guy. I hope he finally turns his life around.

Eddy is a friend of mine, I dont know all the details of his arrest but I do know that in the 13+ years I have known him he never once has been violent towards me or anyone else. Im not making any excuses for his "behavior" on the 1st of May (nor was I at the bar room with him ) but I do believe in innocent till proven guilty. I also know it was Eddy's 50th birthday that day and as he said to me a few days prior "alot of his friends hadnt seen 50 and most dont think I will either" this could be a reason for his so-called outlandish behavior. in any case I hope justice prevails and that those involved in this sad event learn somthing about self control and responsibilty.

Also one other note about Eddy: he is a very talented carpenter , I have seen his work first hand and its amazing to say the very least. His "demons" may have got him in trouble but they didnt effect his craftmanship in my opion....If he needs help with any addiction I sure hope he gets help, and I would support and encourge him. Hell if I had the bail money I would have bailed him out of jail.

Rehabs are notoriously unsuccessful. They only work while the doors are locked, either physically or financially, that is. If you realize that they are a farce and try to leave on your own, you will be mailed the bill; that's the financial "lock-down". Sometimes facing the consequences of messing up are better than having to digest a life-time label.
