There was a girl's football team just finishing a game and went to the locker rooms to get dressed, have pizza and soda provided by the teachers/coaches, and then go home. In the locker room, one girl had an argument with another girl and it escalated to an argument with three girls cornering one girl. the cornered girl tried getting away and as she walked away, she was shoved into a mirror, face first. she then turned around and struck a girl on the lower part of her arm. the female teacher that was in the locker room heard yelling and cursing so she broke it up and made the girl who had been singled out apologize. after the girls were dressed, two of the three girls who did the cornering ran home (they're sisters) and told their older siblings, whom are 25, 23, 21, and 14. the 13 year old girl who had been cornered was outside the school on the stairs, about 15 minutes after the incident had happened, and the 13 year old saw the 4 sisters approaching her. by the time they approached the 13 year old they were cursing at her and threatening her. the 13 year old girl stood on the steps of the school, obviously intimidated and they began brutally beating her. the 4 sisters broke her nose, sprained her ankle, bruised her back, stomach, arms, and legs, additionally, trying to throw her off the stairs. the 13 year old girl held on to a pole to avoid from being thrown down. then, the girl who the altrication was initially with decided to join in when the 4 sisters finished assulting the 13 year old. the 13 year old tried fighting back when the 4 sisters joined in and then there were five people assaulting her.
a teacher somehow came out and took the girl away from the 5 that were assaulting her and even when the teacher was there they did not stop the abuse. the teacher took the 13 year old girl into the office and called the police while the 5 girls were still outside the school. the abulance, fire dept., and about 4 police cars arrived at the scene and the adults were not arrested. the 13 year old girl who stated she was really dizzy was interrogated by police men without parental consent. the school knew exactly where the girls lived and had the girl that was not related to the sisters in the office and picked up by her mother. the 13 year old was taken to the hospital on an ambulance.

Horrifying, isn't it? I heard this from children at the scene and from the 13 year old girl herself. I'm a family friend and I have no idea where this family should start looking for legal aid or assistance or even what they can do. All I know is that the adults who hit the 13 year old need to be in jail on charges of battery and child abuse. The 4 females that assaulted the 13 year old girl are free, roaming around, probably laughing at the fact that they assaulted a child. which is disgusting in itself, but what do people do? I started thinking, what if that was my 13 year old daughter? What if no other adult or teacher saw anything? How far would those women have gone? Where the hell was the teacher or any supervison at when this happened? In order to have caused that much damage to one child must have taken a few minutes. It was only 15 minutes after the football game had ended. I don't understand.

And to top it off, when the family of the 13 year old called police later last night, they stated they already took the 13 year old's report and to get back to them in 7 days, as there were many reports as to what happened and it was a busy holiday weekend. Many reports I understand, however, abuse is abuse. There are criminals out on the loose and are most certainly going to do this again.

Wow! That's incredibly shocking and sad to hear. How is the child now?

Things sure have changed since I went to Mesa Robles.

I'm also an attorney, but only handle corporate cases. I would suggest that she seek an attorney to possibly file a civil action for assault and battery against the women, and their parents; and possibly the school district.

Very sad.
