Congrats Columbus Fire Marshall William Pollack - wish the Deming fire chief had the know-how to do this.

Sounds like it's a good plan with it being extra dry this year, and maybe Deming should have done the same. I live well out of the city limits south of Deming and every year I hold my breath because locals around here shoot off fireworks. Hope they abide by the ruling this year, lots and lots of tumbleweed just stacked up against fences waiting for a stray rocket.....POOF !!!!!!

Anti American propaganda flowing like wynmutts fake nomination for Mayor.
Dona Ana did it right. No ban on sale or shooting off. Shoot them in safe and approved areas, designated areas.
All you commies can go to and stay put...

Thank you Bill, you know what has to be done and you have the confidence to do it.

Another commie supporter. You will cause more problems in the long run by NOT setting aside an area for people to celebrate OUR INDEPENDANCE.
Pollack you and your support can go suck your vodka filled baby bottles.
You got no idea what your doing, you got no idea what your commie actions are going to do... You need to step back and re think your POS fireworks BAN... you must be one unpatriotic SOB.
Set aside a designated place that people can celebrate OUR FREEDOM.
Either that or your charaster is just as bad as a gum runner.

best i can figure this is one of those retired belly-aching all-about-me northerners or callyfournyans never seen a tumbleweed wildfire sweep through town like Hatchita just now
rather burn their own house down and everyone else's than admit it might be more danger than they can handle

Almost every year some dumb-asses start with a fire ban of some sorts just before the 4th thinking that the people they are supposed to work for are too stupid to be trusted with the right to set off some fires...and just as often a big ole rain comes to dampen their controling power grab anyway. So light em up folks!

hello there "Trailer Trashn"
re your comment: "...You commie Columbus bast*rds. Even in Alburquerque they are going to permit fireworks..."
Just a thought, looking at the "bigger picture"... In Albuquerque they have hundreds, maybe thousands of full time, fully staffed, fully paid & benefitted fire departments & personnel throughout the rather large city;
Now let's compare ALB's fire fighting resources d to The Village's "All Volunteer Do It On Their Own Time Just to be of service to The Village & surrounding area residents for a paltry stipend per call"....and not alot of equipment and not even access to a fire hydrant on every corner that they cover to answer anybody's call @ anytime of day/night/holiday or not.
So, do you think that maybe Cost, Abilities & Preparedness are factors that the Columbus EMS Dept. chooses to consider when assessing the possible risks of fires started by misproper handling of fireworks?
Or, should they simply focus upon pleasing an obviously illiterate anarchist of who erroneously perceives yet another "American Right" (4th of July fireworks) that they should have simply because the ignoramous chooses to live in a very small, underfunded village in the USA instead of one in Russia; where there is No July 4th Celebration of any kind compared to what We The People carry in our hearts & souls for centuries in honoring our Freedom from the British rule?
You can always get in your pickem' up truck & drive somewheres to go see the fireworks if that's what it takes to Make Your Day a Holiday.
After all, You Are Living In the USA which affords you that freedom of choice.
So why don't you thank goodness that you have that choice & freedom and do that instead of sounding like some nasty four year old whining temper tantrum name calling bully picking on volunteers to your Village?
