I'm a native of Solomon, although it has been many years since I've called Solomon home. I wanted to share that there is not a finer place on earth than that little bit of heaven located between Salina and Abilene on I 70.
It is my wish that when I retire to move back to Solomon. It's home and it always will be.
Compared to Garden City, it would seem like Heaven.

Don't you remember all the reasons why you left Solomon? Nothing to do but drink beer and get drunk.. cruising main street meant driving one block and the flipping a U turn.. waiting for autumn weather and football season took an eternity.. lovers lane ain't what it used to be.. too many dead people on the east hill wondering when you'll join 'em.. more excitement in Salina and Lawrence.. couldn't wait to graduate so I could get out of Solomon!

This crud comes from every young person not intelligent enough to better themselves or not involved in community activities enough to expand their lives and experience the influence of the good people who live in every community, large or small. It is almost as absurd as the excuse; "I had trouble in school because I was bored". Truly smart students will always find some activity or worthwhile endeavor to better themselves and not allow themselves to become "bored".
