If you are talking about the house that some call the guthrie-ky castle , it was orginally own by the mimms family and at one time during the early 1800's or early 1900's it was one of the first guthrie-ky grade elem schools building.[ if my info is correct ]

I am not sure if the Guthrie Family and James Guthrie ever own this house.

I am not sure if it was the guthrie-ky grade school or not around the 1800's era.

I have wondered this many times. Did you ever get any history on this house? I would love to stop and take a tour one day.
