It's ok for lil Wayne and every other rapper out there to throw out the end word but because its ending in the letter a instead of er and he himself is African American. That makes it ok. I don't see target refusing to carry his CDs because of the video circulating of him stepping on the American flag. No... Don't recall hearing that... The video is all over the Internet. But it's ok for other races to malign whites in any way they see fit. Calling is crackers or whatever else they want. Lets face reality. So what she said it. She said it in the comfort of her own home. I'm sure she never expected someone to file a lawsuit against her. I'm also certain that 90% of the American public has also used that word. I have family member who are bi racial. One says that the word shouldn't be used by anyone outside of the black race because its their word. The others don't care. I've been called honky. Cracker. White bi*tch. God knows how many other names. I just smile and turn the other cheek. Cuz I don't care. Point being, who gives a monkeys a** that she said it. It's sad that she is losing endorsements and everything. It's not just her that will suffer. The people who work for her will too. If it was reported that the Neelys said something about whites or referred to us in a malicious nature. Do you think there would be this kind of fall out. We live in a society where it's so Effin politically correct. Freedom of speech no longer exists.

It was more than on incident. She admits to that in the deposition. The lawsuit is actually for sexual harrassment and if you read the deposition you will be shoked at all that she admits to went on at her resturants; including her recent use, her husbands use, and her sons use of racial remarks. The racial remarks are not as shocking as the porn, the underages affair, the drug usage that went covered up by her.
Employer's do not want to be associated with that kind of behavior.
She is playing a matryr for the press but it's not that way!
you said , "freedom of speech does not give one the right to say anything they wish" lol...read that back to yourself 50 times ,and then get back with me. funny stuff!

She is a public personality, and Food Network has to focus on what will bring them the most money. They are a business, and she would potentially cost them viewers. The typical FN viewer is upper-middle class, white collar, or liberal.
Regardless of whether or not she is a racist, her food sucks and I hated her as a person long before this.
oh i completely understand that corporations are not governed by the constitution, and it seems that capitalism has been commandeered by the thought police. i wonder if this will in fact wake up hard core gop groupies ,and give them an education in crony capitalism?
its funny how things work :)

Apparently she is going to kiss Jesse Jackson's butt and all will be forgiven. Like I said, I don't really know if she is a racist or not, I am just glad to see her go because her food sucks.

The support for Paula has been pretty non-partisan. Anne Rice stated that the whole thing sounded like a crucifixion, and she is probably further left than I am. And Paula herself may well be a liberal (the food industry tends to have a slight libertarian bend ime).

The main issue is not the statements she made decades ago. That is in the past and should be put aside as such. The problem is her more recent plans, the Southern Plantation idea being the most talked about, but the "Sambo Burger" idea being the most heinous.

Exactly. You may want to try going to one of her privately owned restaurants if you guys take a vacation as well. She is losing her buffet at Horseshoe, and the other businesses she owns will be necessary for her empire. She also has many cookbooks out as well.

I hate Paula's food, but I love it when people take their values (even if I disagree with them personally) to businesses that they agree with.

I am finding me an attorney to counter sue those retard people who are sueing Paula Deen, and I am gonna sue them for 1/2 of what they are awarded. I think if she is to be sued, all whom use the N-Word white or black should also be sued and the proceeds go back to paula for being put through this stupid s**t in the first place futhermore if the n-word is all that to the black people tell them to stop useing the word in the first place............

According to a recent newspaper article I read, we are not supposed to use the 'r'(retard) word either. I have to wonder how long it will be before we see a serious push to outlaw certain words and attach criminal penalties to their use.

furthermore , I wonder how "things said years ago" tie into the whole nsa scandal ,and the data mining of emails and phone calls stored at the new Utah facility? Obama said , "we are not listening to phone calls ,or reading emails" ,but he never said they are not storing for future reference.
even though you are far left of me , I think you have some libertarian values. could we be watching the affluent business owners( that are not on board) being punked of free speech via paula (willing participant or not).
perhaps I am thinking too much?

I am glad you posted mr big.
although it seems anything white and southern is protested these days , and I completely agree with you.... I knew only one person that was employed by the secret service. he was a moral man ,he was an impressive man that earned his doctorate in psychology shortly before he died . when someone asked him , "what do you know?" he simply said, " I took an oath ,so I will honor it ,but the only thing I will say is this....nothing is how it seems".
I want you to keep that in mind mr big ,and think about everything I say on here.

truth is ,50% of the people on here are not living in etown, and are simply just activist trolling ,and trying to convince the public of a certain view point.

She wasn't fired because she used ugly words. She has an ugly, racist spirit & attitude. And, she was ignorant to the fact that she was raised racist. Say whatever you want, but if it's hateful be prepared to suffer the consequences. If you are a mean person, then just keep your mouthmshut
