what has happen at my favorite little dining spot in irvington. at first the new owner was trying it seem. theyre food was really good and they were doing done work there. but it is going to the pits. they to worried about putting on a music show than serving food. everyone everywhere I go is talking about the mash potatoe and how nasty they are now. and my vegtables were not up to par latly. things are serv cold. they still are fryeing that good chicken, but i expect that to end anytime. they dont have good pork chop anymore they gone. heed my advice. get back on your toes owners. get a mop and some bleache and good ole elbow greas and clean it up. the bathroom is nasty. the floor is nasty. the windows are nasty and so are the blinds in window. the table are nasty. people are drifting off. quit worrying about being a bar or a honky Tonk and be a restaurant. i notice some of the people cars are back down to inzes restaurant and betties. all that back gossip table slowly drifting back to inzes which suprise me like ata and denese and teddie. i went down there today for first time and she got her duck back in a row. good food and clean. she got bred back that drawing her a crowd. Bettie got d wayne he her draw now. he is good cook. i go to subway too it clean. you better get to work before you have to close the door. get to work on it being a restaurant or close it down and just open it on fri and sat for music. im really disappointed and hate to hear more and more people talk about how it going down. get to work. you losing it.

First off, it is pretty obvious that “Rodger” is wanting people to think that he is some type of idiot by the way his post is written. But, I am willing to bet that “Rodger” is not an idiot. He is probably a very smart individual. Anyway, enough of the small talk. Dan and Angie have an EXCELLENT, business there. The food is good, the restaurant is clean, the staff goes above and beyond to wait on their customers and the entertainment is the BEST!!!! You cannot please everyone. But, it is pretty apparent that they are doing something right because you can drive by Green Valley and then drive by the other establishments and look at the parking lots. This speaks volumes.
I wouldn’t bet the farm on cars being back at Inez’s either. Inez is a snake in the grass. Some people may not be aware but the band that plays at Green Valley at one time played at the Dinner Bell II. Several months ago Inez had her son to take all of the music equipment back to Ronnie Allen’s house. So, that was practically telling them that she no longer wanted them playing at her restaurant. So, Dan, at Green Valley was good enough to let them start playing up there. The crowd followed them. Inez’s business went down and now she is trying to get them back. She paid Jay Henderson and his former band $1000 to play there on New Years Eve. This was a scheme trying to get her business back. Jay was bought for $1000. So, is Dinner Bell II a honky tonk because she has karaoke there on the weekends too??
Inez is a backstabbing individual and SHE is the reason that her business has went down. When she first opened up, she did have most of the business in Irvington, but no longer. This is the reason she is trying to scheme and win her crowd back. And, another thing, as far as the back table. Don’t you have a back table at your restaurant also Inez??? All restaurants have a back table. They all have their regulars that come in and gossip about everyone and everybody. This is nothing new whether it is Green Valley or any other establishment. They ALL have them. So,“Rodger” you may want to try another tactic if you think that this is going to stop people from going to Green Valley. It may even backfire on you this may want them to come even more. Keep up the good work Dan and Angie!!!
Finally, whenever that you post something on this website you are just asking for the doors to be opened up on previous post. So, if I have stepped on anyones toes, so be it. Because you have stepped on peoples toes as well.

I must say I agree with tiger, I drive all the way from Leitchfield to eat at Green Valley and pass the Dinner Bell II on my way. I think the young couple running Green Valley have done a wonderful job considering the abuse they receive from the mayor. I know for a fact she (the mayor) offered me a $50.00 dollar gift certificate for the dinner bell not to eat at green valley. What has happened to this country when a government official is allowed to keep a town from growing for their own personal gain. People should be allowed to eat where ever they like. Also I have never heard the owners of green valley speak in a negative way about any other place of business how about showing the same respect. The food is great at green valley and the prices are cheap and being on a fixed income that is a blessing to to my husband and I

I am 16 years old and Green valley is a great place for kids and teenagers. They have wonderful food and amazing entertainment. Wednesday jamboree's and Saturday night karaokes keep teenagers like me and kids off the Streets

I saw Marion & Rosalee Whelen today (from Brandenburg) and they were really bragging on Green Valley. They said they have been coming down there quite a bit lately. Said the food is wonderful and the entertainment there on Wednesday nights is wonderful. Also I saw the previous post from Dakota and what an awesome testimony. He is exactly right!!! Dakota, you are a pretty good dancer too. It is great that kids have somewhere to go in Irvington and keep them off of the streets at night. Keep up the good work!!!

Well, well, well. At it again, huh? Rodger, everyone knows who you are. If you are right and Ata, Denise and Teddie are back down the street, don't hold your breath, it won't because Inez will turn on them again and they will tuck and run back to GV. This is the same old story, different year. Everyone in town talks about how Inez bad mouths everyone once they leave her place. BUT, the same can happen anywhere. I just wouldn't worry about it and be too concerned about it myself, It'll all come around again and again and again. So, instead of getting on this wonderful site and tearing down a business in this town. Sit down, shut up and watch the show. It'll be quiet entertaining.

I dont know when the Green Valley Rest. was sold. I had stopped in there about a year ago and it was so dirty I swore I'd never stop in again. I had ate there several times over the years and I dont think it was ever a very clean looking restaurant. At one time, it may have been a nice clean place but it must of been years ago.

I have never thought that it was dirty. And, evidentally the people don't think it is dirty because their parking lot tells the tell. The parking lot is usually packed every time we go by. We go up there every Sunday after church and the food is delicious and it is a clean place or we wouldn't eat there. You said it was a year ago, Gary Board ran it then. But, I didn't think it was dirty when he ran it.

And, who is Rodger that has been posting stuff?

Well, after receiving a call that my name was on topix again, I do what I always do. Rebuddle but with my own name, not a fake name! First off, I patronize all the places. Now I didn't for a while after the blow up when The Ronnie Allen Band left/got asked to leave The Dinner Bell. However, we put the past in the past back in October and Ronnie, Linda & myself once again started patronizing DB. I play every Wed with Ronnie and the rest of the gang at Green Valley and I patronize Green Valley weekly. As of Dec 1, 2012 I didn't have a place to play on NYE. I made contact with Inez about having something at DB. If you would like to see the emails, I still have them. So, yes I patronize both places and have played at both places. Both GV & DB both had excellent crowds. Neither party hurt the other. I never had a bad thing to say about them having a party & I knew they would draw a good crowd. A lot of my crowd was some of my old Brandenburg crew from my days there in the entertainment business. I was in GV yesterday and DB today. I was at first afraid of all the talk when the final deal was sealed with DB about NYE. Since then, I have accepted an offer for a Valentines Party at DB with The Country Ramblers. I'm sure tongues will be wagging again, but I could really care less. Wednesday nights are very fun, but they are for tips. This is a real paying job on Valentines that's why I'm accepting it and willing to bet that everyone is back on here talking. I appreciate being talked about....because when you're talking about me, you're talking about the best. Have a great day, Jay Henderson

Good morning to all, a very beautiful day and I am about to head out the door to work. Jay thanks for someone who will tell the truth about what really matters any day, anytime, anywhere.$1000,00 was a big price to pay for you. Were you worth it? yes!, did i pay it, no but that is o.k. whatever makes people feel good about what they say. All I can say to these miserable souls is put a smile on your face and do what it takes to get you through the day. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, DB will continue to do what we do best. We will also continue to have special events and get the best band around every time they are available. Just trying to do what makes the residents in Irvington happy, not a fighter, never have been and never will be. Dan and Angie, wishing you a prosperous 2013. Your neighbor, Dinner Bell II.

If the customer at DB and friends of Inez want to do her a favor then I would say not making DB THE place to gossip would help. Talking about GV on here only makes you look like fools. DB has good food but its no place to take a family because of all the gossip.

Well, well, well, Ms. Mayor herself. And who is really telling the truth here???? Inez is your nose growing because somebody is lying here. I don’t know if it is Jay or Inez, but these stories are contradicting one another. Jay is saying that he only gets tips on Wednesday nights and the other is a real paying job. If you want a real paying job why don’t you go get one? Inez is saying that she didn’t pay for it. So, who did, the easter bunny??? There is nothing wrong with having special events, but what is wrong is the way that Inez does people and then when it comes back to bite her she thinks that everyone is picking on poor little Inez. At one time, you had the best place in Irvington. So, if anyone is to blame it is you, bad management or both. A word of advice, you have to treat people with respect and dignity first off. Also, a previous post from “Martha” said that you offered her a $50 gift certificate to eat at Dinner Bell and not at Green Valley. You did not dispute that in your post. That is very tacky being that you are the mayor of Irvington. It appears that you would want everyone in your town to prosper. I don’t know who started this discussion but they have got the ball to rolling because the majority of people that have posted on here seem to agree that Green Valley is not a bad place to eat and it is not dirty as suggested in the first post by Rodger. Finally, Breckinridge County is full of “country” people. You can not charge city prices for food in a country town. A lot of people in Irvington are older and are on a fixed income. So, they not afford big city prices in a small country town.

It came out of her mouth and Jay's that she paid him $1000. They didn't put it on here that came out of their own mouth.
