I would guess with this being somewhat of a rural area,(people growing their own gardens, farmers market, etc.,) there probably is a mistaken assumption there would not be a need?. I know of several people that travel to Louisville to do their weekly shopping at Whole Foods fir things such as organic meats, gluten-free selections, etc. But I have been impressed with the selection available at Kroger. If one has the time to look around and sift through the "usual pickins" they have many of the foods they have af Whole Foods. They even have some if the specialty soaps, shampoos, toothpastes, detergents and cleaners as well. E.W. James even has a decent selection interspursed throughout the shelves. Granted, the "vibe" or "ambience" isn't the same, but the products can be found here.

Why so they can sell you items that are chemically enhanced at a higher price and say it's natural or organic? Wow just grow a garden, it will be more natural or organic that way.

Ok, get this, I posted this just two days ago and today I heard We're actually going to get a locally owned whole food store in E-town. I think I heard the name too but can't remember it right now. Wow I can't wait. I'm so tired of driving to Louisville twice a month to buy real food for my family.
I was talking to someone at my bank & they said that the people were local and that they heard that they turned in their plan to the bank several weeks ago.
I can't wait. I've been buying from the big markets and can't find anything worth eating.
I know that I'll be shopping there if they have anything decent.

Tell me about it, the food quality here sucks. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest and coming here, the food is my biggest complaint!

Prediction has it right. A Whole Food type of place would not lady long in Hardin County there are to many old purple here that would never shop at a yuppy place like that and the prices are to high for most of the people in the area.

Walmart, Kroger, dollar stores and discount type places are all that will survive. Whole foods/trader joes need a much bigger population and higher income to even consider expansion.

Still would be nice to see a decent restaurant or two. Chains, fast food and Mexican are all we have. I enjoy a cheap margarita, chips and salsa occasionally but a change of pace would be nice.

I heard that we're getting a Trader Joes. Not sure if that's entirely whole foods but it's kinda up that alley.
