I think alot of people would read a book like that. However there are so many good books out there that no one ha ever heard about. So your problem would more than likely be promoting it.

I think a book like that would be very interesting to any girls or women who are thinking of a career in the military. Whether your book had wider interest would depend on what experiences you had.

I think that the potential readership of the book would be very small. But while that won't return too much financial return, I think the experience of writing a book would bring other great rewards to you anyway.

So I think you should at least try. But make it a part time thing. Don't be quitting your day job thinking this will become your career because most likely it won't.

No, I think you'll find that what I actually wrote was more like, "Great people have lost their lives in war, a ClUNT like you came back."
I'm not wishing death upon you. I'm wishing you to not to be a ClUNT.

Might be a crossing of wires here.

My problem is with Hmmmm, who is giving Veteran nonsense simply because he thinks she didn't see combat.

I assumed the last post was by Hmmmm, but it seems she thinks I was having a go at her.

O.k. Miss I wanna write a book about my carrer in the military..how long were you in, how many tours did you do, what is your current job & let me guess your early 30's or late 20's who "believe" they have made a difference. The ones who make a difference are the ones over there putting their lifes at RISk , leaving families behind & sacrificing everything. Does not sound like you. A veteran is someone typically older who that was his/her carrer in the military. So it sounds you do NOT qualify.

I think it is good that someone wants to follow their dreams but unfortunately on here you have a lot of bashers and losers who have no direction or goals. If you want to write a book that's fine, but promoting it may be a problem since there are so many already out there. Maybe you should write it from a woman's view about women in the Army rather than places you have been. I think that might be more influential than writing about being stationed in geographical locations. And I appreciate your service weather you were in combat or not. Without logistics and support elements, troops couldn't fight without beans and bullets, something these losers do not understand. Good luck in your quest.

Yes thank you and my goal is to direct it towards women in the military which a lot of them past present and future can relate too. I don't take to heart what the negative people say on here but thank u for the kind words. Anytime anyone puts boots on the ground in support of operation iraqi freedom it is considered combat period. Do u think I had a vip plane when I landed there. Give me a break. Everything over there is dangerous.

Maybe start by writing a blog. If it's interesting, you could get picked up by a larger syndicate and start getting paid for it. From there, you'd have a platform and a brand to make a larger publisher want to take the risk in producing, distributing and marketing a book for you. Just a thought. And thanks for your service.

I am so glad you can disregard the idiots like Hmmm. He seems to have done it all. Probably just some kid trying to get attention. I think a blog is a great idea to start with, but always go for your dreams. You might not make a lot of money, but you'll be doing what you want. Thank you for your service.

But be careful because there are a lot of small publishers who will pretend to like your book and agree to print a few thousand copies. But you won't see any of that until you sell enough books to recoup their printing costs. So you'll spend the rest of your life trying to sell those books yourself...and selling thousands of books at $30 a pop to your friends and family isn't easy, especially if you have a day job. You could end up $10K in debt with a thousand old books in your garage. So look for a publisher who is willing to give you an advance on sales and who has connections to the national chains like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Waldenbooks. That's why I recommended going the blog route first...make sure you have a reputable national publisher who believes in you enough to want to make money off your work.
