Be ready the union is coming akebono associates are tired of all the overtime and never getting to be with their families and now instead of a raise they want to have a picnic at holiday world you know we haven't had a good raise in seven years but that's getting ready to change when the union comes in.

The picnic is not instead of a raise. They have been trying to do things lately, get some things back, but that's not good enough. Yea I want a raise, don't get me wrong, but it seems no matter what they offer or try to do someone has to bash it. I think Holiday world is a little too far away, but am going to make the best of it, or, best of the alternate day if I have to work. Bottom line, UNION CAN NOT GUARANTEE YOU A PAY INCREASE!!. It is that simple.

Yeah and when the union comes in our jobs will leave shortly after. You understand that if we go union and Honda or Toyota don't like that... They ain't got to renew the contract with Akebono. I'm so tired of you union people being so hateful and negative. Please look at all the folks struggling just to eat and y'all get greedy. Shame on you. Have some appreciation or go work at metalsa they'd love to have your union thoughts!
Thankful

Do yall ever wonder why unions are nearly gone from the majority of places? Bc they all closed down. It's gonna be funny when y'all get the union in and 1,200 are left without jobs.

If you vote union you can say good by to your job. Akebono will leave Etown fast. Toyota and Honda will pull out and go with a non union company. Anyone who votes union is plain stupid. If you hate your job so bad, just quit and leave. No one is making you stay. I for one appreciate my job.
Agreed

I agree vote no- so help shut up Cheryl Mills, Stokley, Bruce, Natalie Jevning, etc. These people are cancers that are spreading this union idea. This secret Facebook group they have is pretty amusing.

Toyota and Honda have union suppliers already. Akebono japan workers belong to the japan union and get paid 29.00 per hr.
Do you think this is fair?

I worked for a union before coming to akebono. I made $15.35 an hour and paid $50.00 per month dues. Someone is lying to you about the cost of dues. Even if you are right about the 2 hrs. per month for dues. So we make a little more than $17.50/hour x 2 =$35.000/month. Now $35.00 x 1000 employees is $35,000 per month!$35,000 x 12 months =$420,000 / Year!!! The union would love to collect $420,000 / year for nothing. You will have to negotiate all your benifits and more than likely they will be less than what we have now. Health, vision, dental and 401K. There is NO guarantee that you will get a raise. There is a BIG chance the Toyota and Honda will not buy from us and go to a non-union company and there is a chance akebono will move it's etown plant to Columbia, Clarksville, Glasgow, or Mexico. Don't listen to the lazy union talking people who whine about everything. It's always the same old people who are stirring the post, spreading rumors, always on leave or light duty and Always complaining about something. I for one am greatful for my job, decent pay and decent benifits. I have raise a family, lived a good life, put kids through college, own a nice home, drive nice cars, take nice vacations and have a little money in the bank. Thank you Akebono for giving me a job! I for one am greatful as MOST of your employees are. I hope the FEW union trouble makers do NOT reflect on the majority of the employees who are greatful for their jobs.
I for one , as most who work at ABE say VOTE NO!!!!!!
