Dr. Vo was my ob dr, whom delivered my child in January of 2012! I loved his staff and him! He did my c section. He made sure I was satisfied with everything. I wanted to go til my due date he was completely ok with that as long as I was doing good with no complications. Closer to the end with 2 weeks left he decided I couldn't make. And I knew in my mind I couldn't. He also knew how much I wanted him to do my section and he made sure I didn't have any stress about thinking if I was going to deliver on a day he was off or not on call. He did my c section and you can't even tell I had one!
This mess he is going thru now will not stir me away from him his office or staff! If I was to get pregnant again he will be my number choice and I'd be rather upset if I couldn't have him as my dr again.
My sister in law had the mirena iud inserted by a dr in bowling green and 1 year later had it removed because she was having unbearable complications. So do I see Dr. Vo as a horrible dr NO I DO NOT!

The fact of the matter isn't even about the imported mirenas. The fact is they were obtained illegally. The fact is he was charging higher prices for them. He was ripping off Medicaid and passport. He knew exactly what he was doing. He was profiting off of the government!!!! This is a white collar crime. He is affecting everyone by doing this. If you look into white collar crime this jail sentence isn't rare. A lot of white collar criminals get high sentences like this. The man deserves it wether he is a good caring doctor or not. He was knowingly ripping off all of his patients and the government. It's sad when someone in such a high position does these things!!! Especially when they are the ones taking care of our health. Makes you wonder how many other doctors are doing something similar!!

FDA is a joke anyway. Do you know what they allow in our food? An IUD is probably safer than what we eat.

The guy broke the law...plain and simple.

He should pay.

Remember the other E'Town OB who had so many posts about him and his "encounters" with female patients? The one whom the medical board placed sanctions?

Great group of professionals.

@ticked..... im sorry that you wife is having complications but like many others have pointed out there is good chance that an fda approved version of this iud could have caused the very same complications that she is experiencing. i can only speak for my self but every time i have ever had any procedure done at his office, he and his staff were ore than candid about every possibly risk i was taking. they provided me with several options when available and took the time to explain everything to me thru and thru. i never felt pushed in one certain direction vs the other and they made sure i knew what i was getting into. i have been to several area doctors as i have lived here my whole life and finding a good doctor who will take the time to make sure you are comfortable with your options is hard to find around here..... so i hope that this blows over and this practice is allowed to keep serving our community.

also he has not been convicted of anything yet and i do not think its right to jump to conclusions before knowing all the facts. we dont know if he really plays that big a role in the ordering process and i doubt that he takes care of all the billing and paperwork for bwh. so i dont think its right for any of us to speculate wrong doing on his part at this time. all we have are the "facts" presented in the article to go by. i think that if he is found guilty of all these things then obviously there should be others involved and held accountable also. upon doing some research i have discovered several doctors across a few states that are being brought up on the same charges so for us to sit on this forum and pick apart a man character before knowing all the facts just seems wrong.

but thats my point.......

we dont really know if he broke the law yet.

we are all just speculating and making assumptions based on a little handle full of nibbles..... im sure there is plenty more to the story..... hopefully justice will be done either way.... but what really burns me is guilty or not.... and we don't know that yet.... the damage to his character has already been done.

whatever happened to innocent till proven guilty.

They have been investigating this guy for years. I'm pretty sure they have the evidence they need to convict him of the charges against him.

I had two supposed mirenas put in here. one I got pregnant while first one in because the fame one he bought didn't even work. then the bad hormones secreted by this.onexaused my daughter born prematurely with problems. got another one put in and had problems again. so don't sit here and tell me what he did was OK. he never informed.people this was not even a.mirena device and he never offered any apologies when I became pregnant against my wishes or when he delivered my daughter and she almost.died. he broke the law and.mislead us and caused immense pain for my family. I am seeking a lawyer and will Sue for pain and suffering

To well ... Guess you should have been using more than one birth control method if you didn't want a child that bad. Don't blame dr vo cause you don't know what condoms, contraceptive foam and female condoms are!

Haha you had sex and got pregnant! And its his fault! Bullshit. That's like saying the condom failed after I used it ten time???
Maybe just maybe your body didn't take to the item the same way some people take immunization shits and die. Maybe its a bad idea to put things in your body not normally found there. Maybe your a smoker or a drinker and that's why your baby had issues?
So much easier to blame others when things go wrong.
Any way it goes if he had done, something criminal he would have been arrested. He was not. So they just want money.

And to hurt, if you didn't want to have babies u should have tied your tubes. But obviously you want to sleep around and enjoy unprotected sex with no adverse affects. God I hope you don't have a std.
Get your tubes tide you won't have to worry. Unless you want to trap that special someone in child support.

I am consistently amazed by the ignorance of some people. First the man is accused and innocent until proven guilty. Second, the media is reporting only what was contained in the FBI press release, which is completely one sided. Even so, he is not alleged to have used fake Mirena's; he is alleged to have purchased Mirena's from Canadian pharmacies and not from a US distributor. Mirena's are all made by Bayer Pharmaceuticals at a plant in Finland and then distributed worldwide. Technically, all Mirena's are imported from Finland. But the FDA wants US physicians to only buy from US distributors at the higher US prices. When a doctor bills for a Mirena, he gets paid the same by Medicaid, whether he bought from a Canadian pharmacy or a US one. HE DOESN'T BILL THEM AT A HIGHER PRICE. The only person who is losing out when the doctor buys from a Canadian pharmacy is Bayer Pharmaceuticals because they were unable to sell their product to that doctor at the inflated US price. So ask yourself the question, why are taxpayer dollars being used to protect the financial interests of a pharmaceutical company? Is it due to the lobbying efforts of the pharmaceutical industry to guarantee that Americans continue to pay exponentially more for our drugs and devices than anyone else in the world for the exact same drugs and devices? As for Hurt, you obviously are just excited at the idea of wanting to sue someone to get some free money. Bayer Pharmaceuticals sent these Mirena's to Canada and deemed them safe for Canadian uteruses, so I'm not sure why your uterus is any different. Seriously people, does a Mercedes built in Germany and sent to the US cease to be a Mercedes if it is sent to Canada instead??? Common sense people...look into it.

The government just wants his $. 233 years is ridiculous for that. Baby rapers molesters, murders and dope dealers get less harsh sentences than that. Crock of poo.

i dont think its right for a man to do this kind of work, it caused a lot of problems for me and my wife with her going to a male gynecologist, but now she sees a female. however, unjust punishments are wrong too.

Man.. U need to wake up and realize that we are NOT your wife and we will go to any dr we damn well please! Don't whine to us cause your wife got her jollies when she went to her gyno cause u aren't doing it for her at home. For the rest of us women we go for our health and our unborn child's health. I think you have posted enough on other threads how you feel about male gynos and still no one cares, get over it!

you people don't know the whole story. good or not he broke the law. he misled people and also specifically told me that I didn't need backup birth control because mirena was 99.95 percent effective. but yet it wasn't a Lorena and the hormones excreted from it weren't the proper ones. the Canadian mirena was.non FDA approved because IT ISNT SAFE!!!! if it were every doc would use them and he wouldn't have hidden it. he even billed them as mirena. he knew what he was doing and chose to break the law and Lie to people. so while everyone saying he's nice may be true it doesn't change the fact that he hurt us and causes several unintentional pregnancies. if I wouldn't have been told I didn't need Backup birth control I would have uses other methods.
