Go to youtube & find "1959 Chevy vs 2009 Malibu" crash test. You just might be surprised. Vehicles of today are much more crash-worthy than the biggest of the turnpike cruisers of yesteryear.

Would you drive NASCAR without a helmet & belts? What about an NHRA dragster?

OK, don't wear the available restraints. Just don't expect everyone else to pick up your medical bills when your insurance coverage runs out.

Cops can let their children ride in a car without seatbelts. They are the law so they can do what they want.

I got a ticket in booneville for no seatbelt. 52 dollars. 2 weeks later I saw the same cop that give me the ticket in his personal car on the phone with no seatbelt. Where's the justice in that. Shouldn't be so strict in this one horse town. Bet they wouldnt give ol Joey L one.
really?

Why are y'all blaming the cops? It's a state law! I don't hear you complaining about the person who wrote the bill or our representatives who passed it or the governor who signed it.

The cops dont abide by the law but write tickets out to other people for the same thing. Its just the principle of it.

Kops are lousy role models.

More and more they are thugs with badges, guns & taxpayer funding.

Better a young kid sell used cars than become a kop.

Some do. Some have ethics and obey the law. We go home to our wives and kids and church. All of us dot chase women and drink. I admit some do and it makes us all look bad. Don't judge all by actions of a few. Don't care what profession you look at you will find some that should be gone. Blame that on good ol boy politics and chiefs with no back bone or chiefs that are that bad apple

Kops are uniformed thugs with guns & badges and taxpayer funding. They do not adhere to the mantra of "...protect & serve ..." unless it is another kop. They answer to the highest bidder, plain & simple.

Not at all. I'm over 60, never been arrested for anything. Nothing worse than a speeding ticket every 10 years or so.

What I do have is extensive experience with kops as a result of spending well over 30 years in the field of social services. I have seen firsthand how those who are sworn to "... protect & serve ..." truly behave.

I agree not all cops are bad and thugs. I just know I'm a law abiding citizen that didn't put my seat belt on. I just hate the double standard in Booneville. Bet they wouldn't give any of the good ol boys one. I wish they would stop the people letting little kids stand up in the seat. See that all the time.
