Mr. Palazzo, Mr. Cochran, Mr. Wicker: if you want your military spending, you have to pay for it. You can either pay for it by cutting spending, which we've already done to the bone in the domestic economy to keep the middle east wars going. That or you can hike taxes on the rich to pay for it, which you people have blackmailed to the pt. of suicide to stop. That or you can borrow the money and/or print it up. Either way, get it done already.

For all his faults Mr. Obama has met you MORE than halfway. He agreed to 80% cuts for every 20% tax hikes. You people are from being reasonable. If I was Obama I'd play hardball with you Republican idiots & threaten to bring the troops home & gut all new defense spending for the likes of Boeing or Ingalls until they go their act together -- and remember those are your paymasters Mr. Palazzo. Those are the ones who kickback money to your campaign in the form of gifts/lobbyist money.

I mean I don't know what else to say, if you want military spending you have to pay for it, & you pay for it via higher taxes. Who you tax is what's up for debate here. You can either cut taxes for the rich which will cause local & state govts to raise taxes on ppl like me via higher sales taxes/property taxes/etc to make up for smaller federal monies.

Or you can raise taxes on rich banker asswipes who my tax dollars bailed out in 2008. You're choice. I prefer the latter.

As Obama pointed out, you're only bringing taxes back to Clinton era levels, which are below Reagan era tax rates. So its not like we're going back to the 60s, you know, when the economy was actually pretty good.

I'm fine with keeping Ingalls & the various bases open. I truly am dude. But please pay for it & don't gut the rest of the federal budget just to please the defense contractors & the tea party Grover Norquist nuts. The Republican Party used to be reasonable when Gingrich(before he went crazy) & the older Bush ruled the party. Since Bush you guys have gone nutso.

End the war in Afghanistan a few months early. Those people hate us, they don't want us there. They ARE the Taliban. That war costs 2 billion per week. Half a year is about 50 billion dollars -- there's 2/3 of the sequester right there. Bring the troops home or back to Europe or Japan. Let the Taliban kill each other. End the wars, now.

There's the money for Ingalls & for the base to keep its operations up & running & thus local people employed. Not that complex.

Do that with a mild tax hike on the rich & you can solve this impasse overnight.

Pardon the typo in the title, I meant Keesler AFB, not Ingalls.
