Glad to see economic development growth

Hate to break it to the editorial but every city on the coast from Pascagoula to Ocean Springs to Bay St Louis even over to Slidell are trying to do these "mixed use redevelopments" where they basically build up a bunch of "shops, a town center, hotels, restaurants, etc."
In other words they wanna build a few strip malls that will stay half empty like the ones in D'Iberville.
They don't get it, it has nothing to do with a lack of shops -- you don't build up an economy by opening a bunch of stores -- you open up thru mega-employers like Stennis, the casinos or the shipyard....
