Dear Palazzo, you voted FOR the Budget Control Act of 2011, which created the fiscal cliff... now you act like you had nothing to do with it. So, did you vote without thinking then or did you vote without thinking now?
This is what you said about it when you voted Aye in July of 2011:“The Balanced Budget Amendment was a game-changer. South Mississippians want it and I want it... We have victoriously held the lineon no new or increased taxes, spending cuts greater than the size of the debt limit increase, and balanced budget amendments to force Washington to spend within its means... We are at a critical time in America and Mississippians did not send me to Washington to play politics, make easy, safe decisions or punt on difficult votes." So, are you pandering now or were you pandering then? |

Judged: 1 1 What? How could he?! Palazzo better put on some big boy pants and stop playing follow the leader with his party. He's jockeying for fancier committee seats... he has no concept of what it is to REPRESENT his constituents. The GOP should just hire him as their Little Southern Monkey Boy. He performs for tricks. Let's see what happens next time we get slammed by a storm... he'll suddenly see the benefit of talking to more than just his pet-keepers on the Hill. |

Judged: 1 1 Regardless of what that person is, Mr. Palazzo is no principled, intelligent, or even consistent man. He's certainly not cut from the same cloth as the religious types I know down here. That being said I think ppl hold him to too large a standard or expectation. What exactly were people expecting? Like most of the tea party caucus he just does what Cantor & Boehner tell him to do. I agree with the poster above you, he's just looking for committe votes & voting with the herd. Pure politics. I think ppl should step back though -- anybody who expected consistent votes from somebody who's as greasy a politician as the rest of the good ole' boys have their hopes too high. He's a tea party yes man. They telegraph to show him how to talk, he copies his leadership -- the same with the rest of the tea party fools who aren't sane enough to realize that if we default on our bonds we can cause a financial panic that will make 08 look like child's play. I dunno, some people have to learn the hard way, I guess. |

Exactly what pork is in the Sandy Relief bill? I couldn;t find anything about it the other day. Where can I find the list of giveaways and pork in the Sandy relief bill? |
|
It has been widely publicized. Google the bill and read it would be a sure way but there are plenty of articles on it.

Judged: 1 1 We spend 100 billion a year just on the Afghan war. We've spent upwards of 3 trillion on the pointless Iraq war. Tell you what -- you call all this defense spending & war pork "pork" & then we'll talk friend. You cut off 'entitlements'-- consumer spending will collapse(because ppl will have NO MONEY, duh) & you'll have massive bankruptcies, store closings, etc. And the economy will go even further into the hole. Telling people to "work" doesn't make them work if the price of gas is so high & shifts so low/pay so low its not worth going in for. Wages have to rise...& corporations have to accept higher wages & benefits. And if they don't like it -- let them go to China & try their luck with the communists. |
|
That appears to be exactly what they are doing. |

For now. When they don't need them any more though the Chinese will copy all their technology & cut them loose. |

Judged: 1 1 Its the whole economy. Service jobs pay shit. We need unionized manufacturing labor again with rising wages. You can't keep relying on "credit"(aka debt) to keep pumping up spending to 'drive the economy.' You need old fashioned wage hikes -- something illusory in this environment. |

1) If everyone is hurting, who can afford to pay higher wages??? It's time Americans learn to live within their means... and that includes our government. 2) Communism in China is a form of government, not a form of economic structure. China's economy isn't even socialist anymore. They are capitalists... who work for lower wages. 3) If you are capitalist, then you should have no problem with competition and US businesses looking for lower costs of production. If you are a socialist, then you will support laws that prohibit US businesses from hiring anyone who is not paying taxes to the US and will also support gov't subsidies for wages so everyone can make a middle income or higher. |
1. If you knew anything about economics -- you'd know that if you crimp wages you crimp spending. Crimping that leads to a nasty thing called deflation. If you wanna know the horrors of what happens & the debt loads the govt will have to take on keep the monkey show we have know going on google "japan deflation" & read what happened after their stock meltdown in the late 80s. Their 2009 "moment" was back then. And all they've done since then is spike their debt levels. I'm more worried about us though. They tend to be pretty "conservative"(in the personal sense, not political) ppl who don't spend a lotta money & who are very ordered in their society with low crime, unlike here where we have to constantly expand entitlement programs for every illegal immigrant who comes here to have a baby. 2. I know what China is in practice. That's why some say they're more a fascist system now. Either way -- if we keep this free trade nonsense going on -- they're going to drive our wages to nil. 3. Who said I was a pure capitalist. If you give a shit about the broader economy -- you'll do as I suggested. If not -- well, enjoy the Mexican lifestyle, I guess. |
