Just Like Dr Andrew Wakefield who exposed GSK'S MMR as a cause of autism. Wakefield lost everything but would not back down. His work has been duplicated, but Government-Pharma is too strong and has done a masterful job covering it up. We need more men like these in the world.

As a whistleblower in this tobacco case, Merrell Williams Jr., saved hundreds of thousands if not millions of lives and, perhaps, billions of dollars in health and related costs. Yet, his reward was financial, emotional, and social hardship. This is what happens to non-governmental whistle blowers. I know. I was a whistle blower in the Phen-Fen Diet Drug case exposing the fact that prominent law firms, with the help of health care providers, were filing fraudulent claims under the Phen-Fen settlement agreement. Yes, I, too, am a male Paralegal! I, too, was subjected to extreme financial, emotional, and social hardship as a result of the same. Laws must be changed to protect and reward such whistleblowers despite the adamant and well funded opposition of industry groups.

He was nothing more than a paid and kept man thanks to the Legal Eagle Criminals who corrupted many with money. This wasn't about the kids or the harm tobacco causes. The war on this industry was all about enriching a select few. Was he duped or did he do it for the money? I guess he is the only one who knows the real truth in this matter.

I really do not care how much the legal teams made off this. The basic point here is that this man let everyone know how bad big tobacco really was. Screw big tobacco and the people who continue to smoke and therefore are paying those billions of dollars out of their own pockets. Big tobacco and the continuing smokers all deserve to go bankrupt and I really do not care where the money goes after that as long as the smokers and the tobacco companies are hurt financially. As a direct result of this there are now many sanctions in place which have helped to reduce both smoking and exposure to smoke for millions of people. He helped save countless lives. He deserves thanks for that.
