At "gulf" I am 100% positive I had nothing to to with the postings in this site till I was informed what was being said that casino after I was terminated over the phone, they couldn't even call me in for a meeting and discuss things or even ask me if I knew anything about this blog or postings. I was called and informed "I am not longer an employee of the casino and 86d from the property. When I asked why I was being fired I was told "my conduct." I then asked "what conduct" bc I don't even have a write up on my record, and I informed this person I wa talking to I never damaged property, made threats to damage destroy, harm or cause any problems and he responded "I know you haven't did any of that, I am just telling you what HR told me to tell you." I think it's more comical then anything, how it was done ad handled. It's a shame nobody could talk to me face to face like an adult. Instead of HR calling me in for a meeting to see what's going on, they get security to call me and "inform" me of HRs decision to terminate me and my direct manager had no idea about it.

Are you mentally retarded? Assuming this isn't just a staged thing here if what you are saying is true you have grounds for a wrongful termination lawsuit in federal and state court regardless of us being a right-to-work state. If you indeed were not the person typing & they falsely & maliciously terminated your employment go see an attorney. If you can prove that the ISP numbers for the other Marc is not you then you could be getting a fat settlement from a lawyer.
That's a BIG no no. Go talk to a lawyer, you have a case.

So, it seems that a person could walk into MV, look at the badges to obtain a name, and then log in on this forum under that name if they wanted, say something negative, and get that person fired?? Well, somebody could wait until the week before Christmas and give everybody a hard time. What a shame.

In the forum any name could be used. I know of a few different Marc's in the casino. Wonder if the other employees with the name Marc were also fired?

Most likely, they are post from current employees that are finding out around the casino, if they are caught writing or posting in this blog they will be fired. I was fired bc of postings on this blog and wasn't even aware of this blog till till after I was fired.

I hope that casino has better people hiring directors and marketing reps then the morons that did the hiring, and are currently directors and managers at the Biloxi location!

....like I said brother, tomorrow, go see you a good lawyer. They will try to hide behind that "right-to-work" bs but federal law is still there.

You were wrongfully retaliated against. Get you a lawyer & explore your options. Also contact the eeoc & make a formal complaint against them:

http://www.eeoc.gov/

Inform your attorney of your intent to contact the EEOC & have them advice you on how to do so -- & then do so. You're out tens of thousands of dollars in loss wages, you will make money off of this -- go sue. This culture of firing 'for no reason' & for wrong reasons has to come to an end. Unless you wanna roll over & take it man. All I can do is give you advice, its up to you to take it, good luck to you.

But do see a lawyer, you do have a case. And if your attorney says you don't have one -- go ask another lawyer for a 2nd opinion....good luck.

Life is full of choices!
Look I'm lucky in that I don't have any children & right now am not legally married. A lot of other people are in deep crap & have alimony, child support, student loan, credit card & all kinds of other liens on their checks.

Employers do this on purpose. They make you work more shifts thinking it will "weed out those who don't want to work."

What they don't realize is that by forcing harsher & more shifts onto their workers they're increasing their workers' expenses. I offered to work the same amt. of hours, just 3 or 4 days a week instead of 6. No, they couldn't & wouldn't do that they said. They could have done that, & kept employment levels the same. They also do that to avoid paying things like insurance for their workers, etc.

Enjoy your employment, the casino was only viable because it took employment incentives & tax breaks from the state, meaning your paycheck is coming from my hard earned tax dollars honey, I'll work 7 12-hr shifts like i did on my most recent job. And I'll do it for 10 bucks an hour. I'll work you under the table & then out again. Hell I'll work 7 15-hr shifts if I have to. The money's good enough. But I'm slaving for a 4 hour shift that isn't worth spit.

That's not working, that's slavery & "paying to work."

"Working" isn't working if you're not making any money.

Yeah, posts do vanish.

They vanish quickly too. Any time a person complains the moderators remove them to shut people up.

I don't have a stake in this though. I don't really care. Its not my fight. I guess the idiots who are in the tank for the casino can find out the hard way when it goes into Ch. 11 bankruptcy. I guess.

I know one thing that hasn't come up is entertainment. What kind of shows, etc are coming through there, I mean isn't that part of marketing? Other than the girl coming down on a hook....what else is there?

They are in debt!! They can't afford to pay for entertainment if they are in debt. The girl on the hook isn't gunna be happening soon if at all. OSHA said they are Gunna need a hand rail on the volcano before she can climb up the volcano, then the casino has to be insured for the show to happen. We do however have a NIGHTCLUB in the event center, which is a joke. The furniture from the marina is set up in the club. Kinda lame looking after seeing the club. But, maybe if and when the casino get out of the debt they are in, the marketing dept will start getting acts in the event center. Until the over 4$million the casino is in debt is away don't expect any entertainment to be booked.

I bet Jimmy is beyond embarassed to be affiliated.
I know I would be. No wonder he hasn't come around
after opening day.
And anyway, what goes around comes around. So for any suits at MV who pop into this forum and take what they themselves brand as "gossip" back to the workplace to use as fodder for a witch hunt to terminate employees... rest assure your due is coming. And I know I will just read the news and laugh and laugh and laugh
