I heard from a friend that still works there, that employees were told if business isn't better in 2 months, there will be another layoff. That place just needs to close the doors and put a lock on them. If anybody with half a brain in upper management knows this is the slow season for casinos. And for a casino that already was slow before the slow season started to tell employees if business don't pick up they are doing another lay off. What the hell are these people thinking!?!?!?!?

Yeh they know they're going into slow season, and so do the employees in sure. They all know it's not going to improve but they'd rather the employees quit of their own accord so they don't have to pay them unemployment. They could lay them off right now but by making them wait 2 more months of shit hours and no tips, they just might piss them off enough to quit themselves. it sucks

It is so sad to see this happen to Jimmy's empire but greed will consume us all in the end. Has anyone bothered to warn Atlantic City or Cincinnati or is it just going to burn itself out and leave a trail of unemployed people to be the victims in all this. I don't know how the company can sleep at night.

Hell no. Fly to Vegas or Atlantic City, never ever come here.

The place has been dying since Katrina, hell before then, but really since the storm, & it really hasn't been the same since either in terms of jobs or things to do or anything.

Pretty sad too considering Jimmy's supposed to be a hometown guy & all that mumbo jumbo. He could give a spit about this place, can't blame him. I'd haul ass too if I had the money. And never look back.

It's quite possible but that may have been their plan all along. Donald Trump wrote the book on operating that way. Keep your casino while screwing everyone outta their hard earned money!

I never thought about that -- they might just be trying to get rid of people who they owe money to LOL -- helluva way to wiggle out of your debt obligations....

They are in the process of negotiating their debt with small business owners. What a bunch of crap use local business and then say oops we cant pay what we owe. Following the Trump guide book all the away to the bank. They hired a new financial guy he quit after two weeks as the ship was going down fast. Karen and her investor friends should be ashamed at the way they abused the local businesses. Must be nice to be a casino and say oops cant pay my bills, can I have a do over.

I heard they are having another lay off, they laid off some right after cruzing the coast. A friend of mine that works there states that the no longer are having the gaming tables open atermidnight due to the lack of business, And them having no one on the tables so they close them.
Not only that but.... they were feeding all shifts. and graveyard was getting sandwicks and chips. They have completely stopped serving food on graveyard you are to bring your own lunch. whats going to be next, yep another lay off soon... they also have slot techs over seeing the whole casino. which is not proff. at all. where is the legal rights of these people whom are sticking it out!!!!!! give them a break Tom they are working for you making your pocket fat while you sit back and watch them sit on the edge of never knowing will be next..

Too be quite honestly with you I don't think the boss is getting his pocket "fat."

The casino is burning thru cash. I'd imagine the directors are doing good but that cash flow only lasts as long as the casino stays "healthy". Ultimately I think everybody's gonna lose their job when the casino folds in on itself. And the banks or idiot bondholders who financed this fiasco are gonna be left with a huge lemon. The State Gaming Commission will probably be sued for this. The banks that financed this project & owned the mortgage/debt on it will sue anybody & everybody to recoup their money, Buffett probably also.

Sad all around. The SGC never should have approved this site in the first place.

WE THE TAXPAYER will probably be sued for this when various employees & creditors go after the Gaming Commission for approving this. Expect your tax bill to go up just a little more...

They also have the right to file a wrongful termination suit or a class action suit against the Gaming Commission for botching this process. The problem is that workers in this state are usually timid, stupid, or uneducated on their rights. I kinda hope they do sue. The idiots who approved this in various public positions should be replaced with ppl with more experience.
