The Diamondhead Fire District on Thursday won a long-standing legal battle over the legality of fees it charges for fire protection.

What? Only in Diamondhead, Hancock County MS., could an additional fee (tax) be legal on a County Fire Station. Well, I wonder how much the judge made on this deal.

Really? Seems like a no brainer. Pay a $240/yr fee to your local firemen, or pay $4,000 more per yr in insurance premiums to an insurance company. Why would anybody pick a fight over that?

I guess we know who you work for. Anyone in Waveland or Bay St. Louis paying $4000.00 a year for additional insurance? Anyone in Hancock County paying $4000.00 a year for additional insurance?

Does that make it any less of a no brainier? Read the opinion.

Fire department is a public service paid for by our taxes. Forcing us to pay additional fees to the Fire Department is unconstitutional. Here's an idea.....lets start a volunteer fire department.....put those local idiots out of business.
