How many people could be picked-up for a DUI that are lucky enough to get home before they are caught? If this is the worst thing that this guy has done, let's cut him some slack.

I guess it's the hypocracy in the thing. Wonder how many people like himself he prosecuted to the fullest extent while he was the D.A.? Of course, given the choice of prosecuting him or someone else higher in government that is skirting the edge of the law for personal gain, I would let this guy go and watch the other politician swing. The BIG GUY never gets caught - too bad!!!!

You are right. If he slam-dunked every DUI that came before him when he was a judge then he really deserves to be treated the same way.

He prosecuted Felons only and barely over 100 so you could sleep tight in your bed and not worry about those people changing your life in the scariest way possible. Also for anything less than a felony, he has helped over a thousand people, just like you and me and our children, who made a bad mistake, but is not a felon or even a threat, get their lives back on track. I can name over 10 off the top of my head who needed some slack and got it because he is a great man and none of the people he helped were bad people nor powerful people. So you can say ignorant things all day but they will only be just that forever. Pray the new D.A does the same when it is one of your love ones in a bind and deserves a little slack.

OK, I'm ready to cut him some slack because of what you said. I'm against harsh penalties for DUI when people are running people over everyday while on the cell phone. Apparently there is not breathalizer test for that.

Well now, that you have experience, maybe you can start calling the police everytime you see someone on a cell phone swerving all over the road--or, are these jerks exempt just because they don't have a bottle of beer in their hand?

I certainly don't think anyone should drink and drive and I want to point out this man has had a career of dealing with horrendous criminals including serial killer Patrick Lewis. Unfortunately this trauma that officers and public servants have to deal with isn't addressed by professionals and many turn to alcohol and so on to cope. Not unlike those of us who have experienced sexual trauma as kids and adults. Lets focus on the pain many of us share and heal that rather than lashing out at each other.
