Fishing on the beach

Please, if I am wrong, someone say something. I find it super inconsiderate that people fish on the beach right next to families swimming. Do the anglers not realize that they are bringing marine life (possibly sharks) closer into the beach. It concerns me that small children are swimming in close proximity to these activities. It seems as though there are plenty of places to fish away from populated swimming areas.

If fishermen had any sense they would not be fishermen. Let's face it, fishing, like hunting is just a testosterone high for Rednecks. Commercial fishermen and those who fish for their food are excused.

Jake, most of us don't have any idea how close in to shore marine life actually stays. With a good vantage point and the right light it is easy to see sharks less than twenty feet from shore lines, and many times closer. We just have to remember that the ocean is their home and we just visit. They are right there, whether anyone fishes or not ! I like swimming pools !

Then I guess "Don't feed the animals" has no merit since they are there anyway. Ever heard of "chumming"?

Obviously the marine life is always there but why encourage them to come even closer by baiting them? It just seems very inconsiderate to me.
