When I had my horses, I only ever got their front hooves shod, because sometimes we'd ride on the road. But most often not. The barn I where I kept them (in Durham) had pastures and rocky terrain, so they were pretty well off. Right? It's like having puppies or kids, even! New shoes every coupla months, gotta worm 'em every change of season, East/West vaccine every 6 months, the list is endless! But, I had such a blast riding and going on overnight campouts with them and the other people who kept their horses where I did...nice memories! o.O
