On April 17 2010 at 3pm sergeant Carl Duda of the Guilderland Police Department ordered 5 members (Police Officers) during roll call to stop arresting people for possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license(Aggravated unlicensed operation). He stated immediately there after that those type of arrest are "bullshit" and they "just get thrown out of court anyway", "just let them go". The officers became visually upset and disagreed with the sergeant. Officers Tylor Stevens, Joseph Mazzone, Donald Jones, Paul Mahan and Joseph Normandin were all present during this roll call, as well as three civilian dispatchers (Lenic, Witthan, & dean) were also present in the next room. It is believed that sergeant Duda is still on probation, as he is a new Sgt. Officers were very surprised that, with sergeant Duda's background as a school resource officer that he would make such a disturbing comment. A phone call to David Soares public integrity unit is on the way.

This can not be true. Why would a supervising police officer order other police officers not to do their jobs? Is marijuana legal now? or driving without a license? This Sgt may have his head on backwards.

I went on a ride along with one of the officers and we arrested someone for unlawful pos of marijuana in guilderland near crossgates mall. Duda would make a remark like that .

"the THC levels of Canada pot are at all time high"

Canadian pot is pretty much considered low-grade now compared to medical marijuana developed in California.

If your info was correct you would know SGT. Duda isn't a "new" Sargent and all the officers that you state in the above article say this never took place.
