Of all the places I have ever been in, I must say this is by far the worst Goverment office I have ever entered, they take such delight in telling you that you must leave and bring more papers, they send you away and after you return then tell you another paper you need. I do all I can online but sometimes I must go there, The dentist is much more delightful, knowing you are going to get injected with needles and having teeth pulled.

They made me go all the way to Florida and get an ID even tho I've lived here since I was 12 and I'm 22. Still trying to get a permit because they me suspend from the system because a car I half owned didn't have insurance when they towed it away within 24 hours of having a flat tire! I've never held a license or permit either!

you should have been there the day the office was closing early for a holiday like 2:00 and the girl was so mad and upset anf downright rude and hateful. I knew her problem when she let it out that the other places were closing at noon. I had nort seen that lady there before.the boy she told to go get something was told you better make sure you are back by two or you wont get in. That was around 12:30. She was hateful from the start. That poor ole boy heard that woman from the befinning. I would have called a complaint on her.

The way they think EVERYONE that comes in is looking to crook them, I think they feel they are in a prison and serving prisoners. So cameras are for thier protection, we do have some that has a short temper and they ALWAYS are testing ones temper. I wonder if a plain clothes goverment agent goes in to get service how he feels, well to each his own, I guess i'm just disturbed by the lack of kindness.

Sorry, but all DMV's are like that. I would say their lack of kindness comes from getting yelled at for asking for more documents when they tried to be kind at first. Showing you they're not pushovers so to say. They have a job and to keep that job they have to do it right. In this economy you can't afford to lose a job. So before you go on a rant just put yourself in a position to lose YOUR job and see how YOU react.

It's because they are just that way at the Vansant location. They told me I needed more documentation. I went to Tazewell DMV with the exact same documents and Tazewell accepted what I had, when Vansant would not. And they're always so much nicer in Tazewell too.

When a worker at the DMV tells you that you don't have all the necessary documents, they aren't doing that just to piss you off and ruin your day. They are simply doing their job correctly. If people would just make sure they are totally prepared when going to the DMV, it would save everybody a lot of time and trouble. Sometimes, you may think that you are prepared and have everything you need, but it doesn't turn out that way. That's not the worker's fault. They can't let things slip by just to appease an irate customer who has better places to be.

To the "Haysi person"Evidently you were lacking the very paper that you needed. If you have lived here since you were 12, why are your important papers still in Florida? Being 22 and never having a license seems a little suspicious also. Why was that car being operated without any insurance? You seem to feel that you are above the Law and don't have to follow any of the rules or the LAWS of the land.Time you start doing the right thing and following the laws and shut up complaining because you can't pull the wool over other peoples eyes. You wouldn't be running from something would you?

I'm not running from anything. I wad sent to mountain mission school when I was 12. I didn't know I needed an Id until I tried to get a permit or anything in my name. mms didn't teach us that. I couldn't even get a job until I had an id. As for the insurance part I worked at Sykes but money wise could barley makes ends meet. My checking had went into the negative and closed and the insurance required I pay with a checking account. Took me a year to get another one. I try really hard but not everything is easy for everyone.

Bless your heart. It sounds like you've had a rough time. I sincerely hope things are going smoother for you now. You're right when you say that everyone doesn't have things easy.

Well what in the world did MMS teach you? Man I thought every person old enough to work had enough education and knowledge to realize that you need a SS card to work. Next time you owe a bill and don't have a checking account, go to the post office and get money orders and pay your bills. Guess you will try to say now that the insurance co. won't accept money orders. Something is still stinking here.

You have the attitude of a low life piece of trash. I get the impression that you would be a trouble maker anywhere you went.
