I'm glad you find it entertaining when the only place in this godforsaken county to go...burns to the ground...
I'm sure this will, really, help to bring more college kids in and will convince the hometown kids that moved away to college come back...
This is a bad, bad thing to happen to this county....LBH provided the only place a person could go have a drink or two and have a good time.

A steakhouse is definitely NOT a good enough reason for a college student to return to Grundy, nor is a WalMart. ASL and the Pharmacy School are steps in the right direction, but no matter where you come from, the grass is always greener somewhere else.

Just went by - place is burned to the ground. This is sad for the County. I feel sorry for Bob and Donita - they worked hard to have a nice place for people to go.

Just a few words for you....God did not forsake Buchanan County. That's a harsh remark to make.

Definition of "godforsaken.

located in a dismal or remote area; desolate; "a desert island"; "a godforsaken wilderness crossroads"; "a wild stretch of land"; "waste places"

What, exactly, do you consider Grundy and buchanan county? I grew up here, went to college and moved back...there is NOTHING here anymore. I love my home, but there is nothing bringing people back home to this county. Its disheartening and its, only, going to get worse.

LBH burning down was a BAD, BAD thing to happen to this county. Let's hope Bob and Donita have the energy and power to rebuild. However, I'm sure some of the bible thumpers, whom think beer and a good time is the devil, will try to stop him from rebuilding.

I'm sure someone will build another "Beer Joint", but just for your info. I'm one of these "bible thumpers", how ever I don't see anything wrong with beer,It's not which goes into a man that defiles him. it's that which comes out of him that defiles him, that which goes into a man goes out, but that which comes out comes from the heart. I don't drink but I don't see anything wrong with having a beer with your meal. God wants us to have things,he doesn't want things to have us! If you don't understand the meaning of this,God bless your little heart!

You, automatically, assume that I need to be taught religion by my statement. I have faith and believe in God...however, there are MANY, MANY folks in buchanan county, whom feel the need to keep a bar from opening up and use religion as the reason. These are the same people who sneak to applebees to cheat on their husband/wife and get plastered.

I apologize if you felt the bible thumper comment was extreme...but when a family is lambasted in their church for the restaurant they own, because they sell beer...that should tell you something about much of Buch. Co.

It caught on fire in the wee hours of the morning and the fire dept. left about 8 this AM. It rekindled this afternoon near the propane tanks in the back but thank goodness nothing blew up. I hope they had good insurance, and it is a shame it knocked cable out on inauguration day. I have a satellite so I got to watch but I know a lot of people missed it. Not to mention half the computers in the county were down. I'm glad no one got hurt. That's what matters

Appology accepted, I believe in ones right to believe what they want, so long as they don't try to push it down my throat, like I said I don't have anything against beer ,wine,or any other drink,if one doesn't get carried away. I have seen some who can take a drink or three, and not let it get out of hand, but on the other hand ,I have see some who carry it to extremes. I personally don't drink, that's not to say I have never drank, because I have drank my share and then some, I used to,shall wesay "party hardy" but I have changed, hopefully for the better. Now don't get me wrong, I think it is a waste of money to buy alcohol, but to ever man his own brand of poison. I go to Applebees, but I don't have alcohol, and I don't cheat on my wife, she's usually with me. I am also a deacon in a church, I believe in letting God do the judging, he's better at it than I am! I also ride a Harley- davidson, and have tattoo's,but that doesn't make me an outlaw, just because I choose to ride my bike, and I also have a beard. I had these things before God found me, I say God found me because I wasn't looking for him at the time. People say they found God, but they are wrong,God has never been lost, it is God who calls them,if they heed the calland serve him, great, if not then may God have mercy on their soul. I can tell you about, just as I have been doing, the ball is in your court now, so to speak, I didn't yell or tell you are going to hell,I'll leave that up to God, he knows what is in your heart. May God bless you.

Once again wonderful grundy fire fails to put a fire out completely the first time. i called emergency dispatch this afternoon when i went by and saw the flames leaping the back of the building, and they told me that gvfd told them itd burn for at least 2 days. I say gvfd is a bunch of incompetent people who should stay in the town and fight the town fires and let the departments closer to the fire fight it and get it out the first time. what would grundy have done if BGH had caught fire when they were down at little big horn doing a half ass job

Alas tis truly a day of tragedy. The LBH hath gone to the join other great gin joints in heaven. From the bottom of my heart, I thank God I was able to escape Grundy.

Sadly, most of my fondest memories in that hell-hole were at the LBH.
