Funny you should mention seeing something like this in Harman area. In Summer of 1985 My then Fiance and I were staying overnight with some of his family members planning to leave early morning for a weekend camping trip. We all turned in early of course. 3 men, 3 women, approx 9 children. I couldnt really get to sleep (strange house syndrome) LOL. All at once the moonlight coming through the window was completely blocked out! Something very large was standing at the window. I woke my fiance. He saw and alerted the other 2 men in the home. They all grabbed weapons and went outside to investigate. When they started around the house toward that window something very large dropped to all fours and started running. FAST!! It went down over in the nearby gully or hollar as some call it ..the men were rapid firing two rifles and one shotgun at this thing...they could smell a strange stench from this Bear???...when it went over the hill into the hollar it was turning over rocks and snapping branches & bushes down on it's way. The window was approx 3-4 feet off the ground a full length old timey wood frame window with square panes. To completely block out all light the Bear??? would have stood approx 7-8ft tall they estimated. And it moved faster than any bear those 3 experienced hunters had ever seen.

down the road at the switch back after you come down the rough road we thought it was a bear it was just a big black hair ball HUGE! I could make out red tint in the fur when the truck got closer and the head lights were right on it, it stood up and ran! me and my brother were spooked with adrenaline and fright all I could make out was two arms swinging I couldn't see a face but the head had no ears like a bear just a nasty hair frizz I'm never going back up there nor going to up Harman unless it's day time!
ok now

Ok now, why is it that someone always see's something like this but conveinently dosen't have a camera to prove it? With all of todays technology, digital cameras, phones with built in cameras and so on why can no one ever get a photo?

I'm not saying it isn't true though...but we do have some pretty big black bears in this area, spotted going through peoples trash and stuff...could you give some more information? I want to know for sure since I live at Harman.
no doubt a bear

This sounds like a typical large black bear...very common in our area.

you tell me were you saw this thing at and i will go and see if it left footprints and stuff.if something of that is so..as a hunter things and ppl leave tracks.i not afraid of that at all, i got a 7mm mag kicks like a canon and leaves huge holes if it real it go down.i shot a bear and it blew it whole side out,it shoulder and half of it's ribs out.nothing can survive that hit at all.not even if it was a bigfoot too.tell me where you saw and explain the area real good where i can go to that place and check it all out all over the place and if there was anything there it will leave footprints clearly and as a hunter will track where it went too. i do know this a friend lives over in breaks and seen a huge black bear and i also seen one at top of bull mountain on other side heading to breaks in curve i drove fast and we got out to shot it and it was gone and it moved so fast and jump guard rail. the can run 100 yrd dash i saw up michigan trash dump in 8 seconds thats was fast moving bear,it was the one we hunt for it weigh over 600 lbs and a guy hunted with camp got it and it was the same blg black bear. bears do have black and red tint fur too and they do stink too and smell bad.exspeically the old ones do.tell exzectly you saw this at where a spot easy to see and know, and will go tomorrow and look for footprints and will look all over area to see , i not a joking i will go and look and i will know and see footprints and trails and all over and if it was there i know.

well, since everybody thinks I'm lying what happened was we really did see something like I said it looked like a big black fur ball. we thought it was a bear honestly we did then it stood up and RAN! stop saying bear, bears don't run on 2 feet especially that fast. it stood up and took off I saw what appeared to be arms swinging I've hunted since I was 10 I've never tagged a bear but people in my family have I've skinned them and had them come to my house and turn over my bee hives I know what a bear looks like this things hair was long with red tint in it how many bears have hair 4 inch long by my best guess

if you want to head up there with your mighty 7mm go on buddy kill it maybe then we can figure out what it is lets see how your nerves of steel stand up against that behemoth when it comes up right behind you!
alright

to resident, i trusting you and that why i asking where at you saw this thing at and give the closes spot you saw it at and a place i can reconizie it where you seen it at and yes i would go after it and think i want shot it lol yes i would, and to the almighty 7mm, have you shot one of them and see how hard it shoots and kicks so hard when you shoot it, i had to get another recoil pad put on it to handle the blow and it blows trees into peices when hit. nothing can get away being hit by that. all i shot deer and bear it lifts them up and throws them backwards and also me too. i am from around here and it have hearing aides i bought and you can hear anything moves. i'll take a fiend and go and look and see if i can find it. and to um no'' i will go after it and i see one it go down if i get scope or sites on it fast. where around pond or past pond and how far or something around you saw it at when you seen it at, so i know where to look and also set trail cameras all around to catch it on it and lure it in and in tree stand. i trust you on what you said just where at up there at? in day light would you meet me at mouth of holler and drive and sow me where you saw it at,you dont have to get out bring a walkie talkie and be on channel 1 and tell me there where it was and thats where it went and ,then you can leave and i will go out and we go and see and if it shows up it gonna get hot lead and it will have cold feet time it gets all the rounds put into it . i drive up there now with spot light and look for it now if i knew where you saw it at.it like game.they stay in same feeding ground where food and water is and if it near pond it will come for drink and that be best place to be up in tree stand high in air and catch it with so much scent placed around it not know i am at and others too. so you tell me where at there then and something you can tell best you can where a spot it was at,and i'll go and look for it. you not telling me where at up there to look for it at??????????

ok seriously I've shot a 7mm magnum it's not that great it don't blow trees into pieces it's not a cannon if you needed a second recoil pad then I guess you're to big of a wuss to handle recoil cause they don't kick that hard! besides if I go after that thing I got a 44 magnum lever action which I trust alot more that you "almighty" 7mm lol

You're just assuming what you saw was Bigfoot. How do you know it wasn't Jesus. He was predicted to return last week you know. Shoot all you want but I wouldn't want to be in your shoes after bragging about shooting Jesus!
