Ive only heard good things about the food...of course we have all heard about the hours and having to wait for food but ive never heard anyone say they are "nasty". Ive talked to employees who have said only good things about the way they prepare the BBQ. I love the place and I agree with Bubba...we should cut them some slack..they have only been open for a little while.

Pretty obvious that a BBQ place can run out of food, you dont just "whip up" some smoked pork. If they make more than they sell then they lose money. Pretty clear they have to walk a line between too much and not enough.

Who is working there from grundy?

where is the restrant located? no one on here has said anything about the location. all you all are doing is running off at the mouth about where the food is good or bad and why they run out of food. none of you appear to have prepared bbq on a wood fired smoker before. someone tell me where it located not about the service or food leave it to me to deside.

Between Vansant and Grundy, in front of Coal Country Inn (the old Anchor Inn) motel.

Great food, just need to get their act together.

it's amazing! Good BBQ doesn't just happen in a's not like they can just pick up extra at Wal-Mart. They will get it going. I'm happy to have some choices of where to eat in Grundy. Keep up the good cookin' Southern family loves it!

If you want fast food BBQ go to Dairy Queen and get their BBQ sandwich but if you want really good BBQ go to Southern Smoke. I know the wait sucks a little but the food is worth the wait. If you don't want to wait, call ahead and give them a time you will be there and it will be ready on arrival to eat in or carry out.

we love the food. the attitudes could use a little tweak but the food is awesome. the blonde older lady was taking our order in the breaks and my husband decided that he didnt want bake beans, he wanted slaw instead and she very rudely told him to make up his mind she didn't have all day and rolled her eyes. but i cant say one bad word about the food. we loved it. i hope she realizes that hard earned money is what keeps food on her table and she is a little more gracious to us folks.

Aren't we just so eager to speak badly of a new business coming to town. It is always OUR choice to patronize
a new business. It could be the other way with no place to go. I'm feeling pretty good.

naw, i know these people and they are good business ppl, and good ppl
they ran out of food, because it being new they maybe didnt realize how many customers they were going to get
instead of seeing it as a negative, you should see it as a testimony to how good the food is
and yes, it is a little costly, but, its worth it, i used to go to the one in the breaks
but, due to the cost, it was maybe twice a month
dont put it down until you try it, the food is good, the workers are good ppl and the atmosphere is like nothing you have seen

Me and my wife ate there once in the Breaks and loved it, but it's too far for us to go there a lot. I'm really happy that it is now in Grundy, and closer to us. Having lived in NC I grew to love a good BBQ, and these people got it going on. Some of the best BBQ I've ever ate.
